Aims:
- to familiarize students with the theories of learning and teaching foreign languages (FLs) to
primary school learners
- to introduce students to varieties of techniques and materials used in teaching reading
comprehension, writing, vocabulary and grammar to primary school learners
- to present the idea of classroom management and develop classroom management skills
- promote self-development through active participation

Requirements:
 Attendance (two classes may be missed) and preparation for classes

 Active participation and speaking English

 Homework (reading and writing assignments)

 Topic Presentation
With a partner present one topic from the first semester syllabus (the list of topics
will be provided). Find appropriate resources books and articles and make yourself
knowledgeable so to become an expert. Suggest one article on the topic to the group
mates. Illustrate the notions with examples, materials and your own teaching and
learning experience.

 Lesson plan
Create one lesson plan based on the teaching reading comprehension lesson model.
Use the plan in your teaching practice to observe how successful it has been.
Reflect on your work (i.e. creating the plan and teaching the lesson) and write a
one-page report. Use the following lesson plan layout:
