CALL TO WORSHIP

Introduction: Brothers and sisters, we gather here on this day to celebrate the
love of God , but in the spirit of paraliturgy, a space where our faith can
flourish freely. Let us explore forgiveness together, seeking understanding,
healing, and the transformative power of grace.
let us all rise and sing our entrance hymm

Opening Song: Father I have sinned

(SIGN OF THE CROSS)

Opening prayer: Let us gather in this place with hearts open and mind in focus. We
come seeking forgiveness, for ourselves and for others. We acknowledge our actions,
the words we've spoken, and thoughts we've held. We ask for your grace to see
beyond our own limitations to understand the pain we've caused, and to find the
strength to heal. We ask for the courage to forgive ourselves, and to walk forward
with hope. We ask for the compassion to forgive others to let go of anger and
jealousy. May this moment be a big step towards healing and holiness. We ask this
through Christ our Lord

all: Amen

Commentator: Please be seated

II. Liturgy of the Word

Responsorial Psalm: loving and forgiving

Gospel Reading: The story of the Prodigal Son tells the story of the two sons and
father. The youngest son asks for his inheritance, leaves home, and spends it
recklessly. He ends up poor and returns home, humbled and repentant. His father was
overjoyed and welcomed him back with open arms. The father throws a feast and
celebrates the son's return. The oldest son, who has stayed faithful, was very mad
about this, but the father explains that he loved them both equally, but he
rejoices in return for his lost son

Reflection: The Prodigal Son parable highlights the power of forgiveness and the
transformative nature of love. A stubborn son squanders his inheritance but finds
redemption through his father's unconditional acceptance. The story reminds us that
even when we stray, there is always a chance for reconciliation and a source of
love waiting for us.

prayers of the faithful:

1. Grant us steadfast faith, O Lord, to trust in Your wisdom and find strength in
Your guidance through every challenge we face."

2. God of mercy and grace,

We come before you, acknowledging our failings and seeking your forgiveness. We
have strayed from your path, and we ask for your cleansing love.

Forgive us, Lord, for our sins. Wash us clean with your precious blood, and grant
us the strength to live in your light.
3. For everyone who has been hurt by others, that they can heal and feel better
through forgiveness may those who made mistakes try to make things right, and may
everyone work together to rebuild trust and unity. Let us pray to the Lord

4. For ourselves, that we may be instruments of God's mercy, extending forgiveness

and compassion to others. We pray to the Lord.
