INTRODUCTION
• Social Awareness and Responsibility involves the awareness, understanding, and
appreciation of connections among people, including between people and the natural
environment.
• Social Awareness and Responsibility focuses on interacting with others and the natural
world in respectful and caring ways.
• Social responsibility is an ethical framework that suggests that an entity, be it an
organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large.
• Some of the most common examples of SCR include:
• Reducing carbon footprints.
• Improving labor policies.
• Participating in fair trade.
• Diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Charitable global giving.
• Community and virtual volunteering.
• Corporate policies that benefit the environment.
• Socially and environmentally conscious investments.
MODULE 1 –PLANTATION AND ADOPTION OF A
TREE
Steps to plant a mango tree:-
•Step1:Determine if you have a suitable
environment-average temperatures of 80–
100 °F (27–38 °C)
•Step2:Type of soil -Mangoes thrive in
loose, sandy soil that drains water easily.
•Step3:When to plant-Mango trees should
typically be planted in late spring or the
beginning of summer when it is a
combination of rainy/sunny weather.
•Step4:Select a large, ripe polyembryonic
mango-Polyembryonic seeds will produce
clones of the parent tree.

the seed about an inch deep, and concave
side down.Within 2 weeks saplings sprout.
•Step6:Use non-chemical fertilizers and
water your plant-cow manure,organic
fertilizer.

MYSORE PALACE
• Mysore's proud possession and one of India's most visited
attractions,
• Mysore Palace is an incredible man-made edifice. It is a palatial
structure that tells many tales of India's complex and intriguing
past.
• This palace was once a royal residence of the mighty Wodeyar
rulers, who ruled Mysore for seven centuries.
• Mysore Palace is a historical palace,
a royal residence at Mysore in the Indian State of Karnataka.
• Mysore Palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions
in India, after the Taj Mahal, with more than 6 million annual
visitors.
MODULE 3-ORGANIC FARMING

•Organic farming is an alternative agricultural


system which originated early in the 20th
Century in reaction to rapidly changing farming
practices .
• Organic farming is a method of crop and
livestock production that involves much more
than choosing not to use pesticides, fertilizers,
genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and
growth hormones.
• It is an integrated farming system that strives
for sustainability, the enhancement of soil
fertility and biological diversity whilst, with rare
exceptions, prohibiting synthetic pesticides,
antibiotics, synthetic fertilizers, genetically
modified organisms, and growth hormones .
Cucumus sativus(Cucumber)

•Most cucumber cultivars are seeded and


require pollination.
• For this purpose, thousands
of honey beehives are annually carried to
cucumber fields just before bloom.
•Cucumbers may also be pollinated
via bumblebees and several other bee
species
•. Most cucumbers that require pollination
are self-incompatible, thus requiring
the pollen of another plant in order to
form seeds and fruit.
•Some self-compatible cultivars exist that
are related to the 'Lemon' cultivar.

Sewerage Board (BWSSB) established the
Sir M Visvesvaraya Rainwater Harvesting
Theme Park at 5th Block Jayanagar, on an
area of 1.1 acres in March 2011.

• These models demonstrate various
options available to citizens or institutions
who want to install RWH systems.

• Ragi mudde, ragi sangati or kali,


colloquially simply referred to as
either mudde (which means 'lump')
or hittu, i.e. 'flour'); is a meal in the
state of Karnataka and
the Rayalaseema region in Andhra
Pradesh.

CHANNAPATNA TOY FACTORY

•Channapatna toys are a particular


form of wooden toys and dolls that are
manufactured in the town
of Channapatna in
the Ramanagara district
of Karnataka state, India.
• This traditional craft is protected as
a geographical indication (GI) under the
World Trade Organization,
administered by the Government of
Karnataka
•As a result of the popularity of these
toys, Channapatna is known as
the Gombegala Ooru (toy-town) .
JANAPADA LOKA AT RAMANAGARA

Jaanapada Loka (lit. 'Folklore world or Folk-culture World'), is a


folk museum that has an exclusive display of the village folk arts
of Karnataka. Nage Gowda, an Indian civil servent and folklorist
thought of creating a museum to exhibit the varied folk art and
cutlture of Karnataka. Karnataka janapada parishat was first
established on 21 march 1979.
