Factory Radio Removal


1. Set parking brake and disconnect negative battery cable
to prevent any electrical short.

2. Insert DIN tools into holes in each side of factory radio


approximately one inch until a click is heard from each
side. Note: Do not use excessive force, so as not to
damage retaining clips.

3. Spread tools apart slightly pull out radio, disconnect wiring


harness, unplug antenna and remove radio.

Receiver Mounting Bracket

1. Check notes and prepare receiver mounting bracket


following instructions for this particular vehicle supplied with
installation kit.

2. Remove DIN sleeve from receiver (Figure 1).

3. Slide DIN sleeve into opening in receiver mounting


bracket (Figure 2). Secure sleeve to bracket by bending the
securing tabs (Figure 3).

4. Slide receiver fully into DIN sleeve (Figure 2).

5. Secure rear support bracket to rear of receiver using

Receiver Mounting Bracket

1. Check notes and prepare receiver mounting bracket


following instructions for this particular vehicle supplied with
installation kit.

2. Remove DIN sleeve from receiver (Figure 1).

3. Slide DIN sleeve into opening in receiver mounting


bracket (Figure 2). Secure sleeve to bracket by bending the
securing tabs (Figure 3).

4. Slide receiver fully into DIN sleeve (Figure 2).

5. Secure rear support bracket to rear of receiver using 1-800-955-9094


hardware supplied with receiver (Figure 4). Technical Service

• Inspect factory receiver harness connector in vehicle.

Receiver Installation Ensure that the wiring adaptor received from


Crutchfield plugs into the vehicle’s connector. If the
connector is missing or incorrect, please call our
Technical Service Department at 1-800-955-9094.
1. Secure receiver to mounting
bracket following instructions on
page 3 or 4.

2. Connect receiver wiring adaptor to


receiver following instructions
supplied with adaptor.

3. Hold receiver assembly near
(Option 2 - pocket on top)
dash. Connect receiver wiring
adaptor to factory harness.
Plug antenna lead into rear of
receiver.
4. Slide assembly into dash opening
with guides of rear support
bracket engaged with “rail” in
opening. Push assembly into
dash until it snaps into place.

5. Test receiver operation.

Door Speakers with adaptor brackets only. Cutting or fabricating (not


shown) will be required for other speaker sizes.

1. Remove two (2) phillips screws located behind


door pull handle. INSET
2. Pry off door release trim and remove.

3. Remove two (2) phillips screws from bottom edge
of door panel.

4. Pry out bottom and sides of door panel to


release seven (7) retaining clips. Pull out bottom
edge of door panel and lift panel straight up.
Disconnect four (4) wiring harnesses and remove
door panel.

5. Remove three (3) 1/4” screws securing speaker. Note: Check that wires do not
Pull out speaker, disconnect and remove. interfere with window operation.

6. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of replacement


speaker to vehicle speaker connector. Secure
speaker with screws previously removed
(Inset).

7. Test speaker operation and reinstall door panel


by reversing removal steps.

Rear Speakers with adaptor brackets only. Cutting or fabricating (not

1. Remove two (2) phillips screws located behind


door pull handle.

2. Pry off door release trim and remove. INSET

3. Remove one (1) 7/32” screw from bottom edge Door Panel
of door panel.

4. Pry out bottom and sides of door panel to
release eight (8) retaining clips. Pull out bottom
edge of door panel and lift panel straight up.
Disconnect wiring harnesses and remove door
panel.

5. Remove four (4) 7/32” screws securing speaker.


Pull out speaker, disconnect and remove. Note: Check that wires do not
interfere with window operation.
6. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of replacement
speaker to vehicle speaker connector. Secure
speaker with screws previously removed
(Inset).

7. Test speaker operation and reinstall door panel


by reversing removal steps.
