My school

I go to Hartyán Primary School, which is in the 15th district of Budapest.

It is quite a big school, about 650 children and 60 teachers study and work here. There
are usually 3 or 4 classes in each year. In the classes about 25 children try to study the
different subjects: Maths, Literature, Grammar and others. We can also learn English or
German. My favourite subject is …………………. I like it, because the lessons are
interesting, and we play a lot.
The three-storeyed school building consists of 3 wings. There is a big hall downstairs
where we have assemblies and different celebrations. The dining room is there, too and
a canteen as well. We can find the nice library with many books and the big gymnasium
here as well.
There are many classrooms on each floor. The young children go to the same classroom
every day in the second wing. The upper classes don’t stay in the same classrooms all
day long, they have different lessons in different rooms in the first and third wings. Most
of the rooms are big and cosy. There are posters and pictures on the walls and plants in
the windows.
We usually have 5 or 6 lessons a day, but sometimes even 7. 1 lesson lasts for 45
minutes and after each lesson we have a 15 minutes break. The lessons start at 8 o’
clock in the morning and we can have lunch in the dining room, or we can go home.
There are many other programmes in our school, too. They are very good, and we enjoy
them. I like my school, because my classmates and teachers are nice, friendly and
helpful.
