MACOPA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

NARRATIVE and ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Reading is a crucial element of every child’s education, a fundamental activity for


children’s development which evokes curiosity as they visualize and imagine, boosting
memory cells along the way. Through reading, children learn about new places, people
and events. They gain exposure to new ideas and beliefs, understand how to be more
tolerant and appreciate the perspective of others. As children improve their reading skills,
they sharpen their comprehension and analytical thinking ability, as well as their
understanding of technical and critical language.
November marks the National Reading Month, to develop student’s love of
reading. Macopa Elementary School conducted the 2023 Pambansang Buwan at Araw
ng Pagbasa (PBAP) with reference to Memorandum DM-CI- 2023-1074 which states that
November is the designated as the National Reading Month. It is an annual event
that celebrates and encourages the younger generation about how important reading is.
Last November 8, 2023 the school conducted “Araw ng Pagbasa Kick-Off” at
exactly 7:30 in the morning since the weather was not good we conducted our activity
inside the Grade 6 classroom. Selected pupils in every grade level from Kindergarten to
Grade 6 pupils, teachers and school head participated in the said event. As part of our
program, we had a choral reading by selected pupils from Grade 4, 5 and 6, sharing of
reading quotes to ponder by grade level. We also had a Storytelling from grades 2 to 3
and Spelling Bee. We conducted also a 15 minutes reading by grade level after the kick
off activity in reading. A volunteer pupil shall do the Story retelling after the flag raising
everyday.
On November 28, 2023, Macopa Elementary School conducted the “School-Based
Culmination of 2023 Pambansang Buwan ng Pagbasa-Wika cum Filipino Values Month.
Together with our Barangay officials headed by Hon. Reynante C. Revil and his
councilmen.
The culmination program started with the prayer via multimedia presentation,
followed by the Pambansang awit, Division hymn and San Francisco Hymn. After that, we
performed the Galaw Pilipinas led by the selected pupils in Grade VI. Our School Head,
Mrs. Marifel V. Gesta gave her opening remarks. We prepared various reading activities
made available for the pupils. The pupils truly enjoyed the activities and showed interest in
participating it. In the morning we had the book mascot parade and Disney Character
parade. We had a synchronize reading by grade level at exactly 9: 00 am. We did
different and simultaneous contest in Spelling bee, Quiz bee, Quiz ball, Poster Making,
Collage Making and Color me Best Contest that was participated by each grade level
from Kindergarten to Grade 6 learners. Also, in our culmination program we had
Accroustic reading by selected Grade 1 pupils for their intermission number. Interpretative
Reading for Grade 3 pupils, and Story Re-telling for Grade 4 pupil as their presentation
during the program. The winners received a cash prizes and certificate of award as
rewards for their dedication and participation.
The activity was successfully done and ended at exactly 4:00 o’clock in the
afternoon.
