Course Objectives
The Biomedical Signal Processing Course aims to equip students with the fundamental tools that are used to describe, analyze and
process biomedical signals. Fundamental principles in the analysis and design of filters & different signal processing techniques with
applications to biomedical signals will be taught.

Course Topics / Major Contents


Review of signals and systems and their properties, Modeling of Dynamic Systems, Z-transform and its application in the analysis of
Discrete LTI system, computation of frequency response from Pole, Zero plot, Review of the Frequency domain analysis of
Continuous time systems, CTFS, CTFT, DTFT, DFT (DTFS), FFT, Design and implementation of analog and digital finite impulse
response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) filters.
