Boarding the Tantive IV LEGO set-review

Today I am going to be doing something new! I will be

reviewing a Lego set: Boarding the Tantive IV. I will
also be analyzing each of the minifigures (well not like
the duplicates) If you want to see more of these, leave
a positive reaction! ( @Fr0z3n I need to make sure
that these aren’t spam. They will be posted at least 2-3
months apart and will also be effort threads).
We will start with the 25th anniversary minifigure and
go on from there.
This sets 25th anniversary minifigure is my personal
favorite character in the whole Star Wars franchise,
Fives the 501st clone trooper.

Score: 9/10
Comments: this was honestly a great minifigure. My
only complains are that you can barely see the red
mark on the helmet, which is disappointing. The other
thing is that the platform has a picture of R2-D2, and
I believe that it would be better as Fives. My favorite
thing is the custom head. Very nice and captures Fives
perfectly. Overall, though, my favorite Lego
minifigure I have so far.
Next, we will move on to Captain Antilles, one of the
rebel captains.

Score: 9/10.
Comments: The scared face is genius, and I wish they
had brought that over to the rebel troopers (picture
below). The silver blaster I absolute love, and the
helmet design is amazing. Just wish that it had
printed legs, that’s why I took off 1 point.
The last of the rebels in this set: rebel troopers.

Score: 7/10
Comments: not that great honestly. The scene from
Episode IV was supposed to be an extremely fearful
time for the rebel troopers, and the fierce face/calm
face don’t really work with that. Plus, again, the legs
are not printed.
Next up: the stormtroopers

Score: 6/10
Comments: I put the model from the set on the right,
and the model from just slightly older sets on the left.
Honestly, I like the first one better. The belt should
not be that big, and I don’t like the shading beneath
the breastplate.
Finally, the last minifigure: Darth Vader.

Score: 10/10
Comments: amazing. Captures Darth Vader perfectly.
That’s really all I have to say.
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the
actual set!

Score: 8/10
Again, an amazing build. The door mechanics are
genius. Very detailed and accurate details. However,
the door that Darth Vader and the stormtroopers are
supposed to come out of is left open, and I believe that
it is a missed opportunity to use a few black/gray
bricks to cover the background.

so which one is on the left?

I like the left one more, the piece that connects the
legs together being white looks out of place

also the fives minifigure is very cool but why is it with

this set rather than a clone wars era one?

Hello, professional Lego person here.

On the left is the 2019 version of the Stormtrooper,

main difference is the black hips.

The reason that the new one on the right has white
hips is due to Lego consolidating their designs, and
moving away from “lore accurate” designs, to more
simplistic, cohesive designs. This first started with
snow troopers, then clone troopers, and now
stormtroopers.

As for fives, it’s part of the 25th anniversary

celebrations for Lego Star Wars, first released in 1999.
The main aim is to release figures they haven’t
released before, or won’t get a chance to release again,
from a range of Star Wars media. Fives here is the
representation for Animated Star Wars television, and
a figure they’ve never made before.

A better example to illustrate this is Cal Kestis being

released in the upcoming Death Star play set. Due to
Lego’s rules, and Fallen Order being a game that’s a
little more violent for Lego’s taste, they haven’t had
the chance to release proper Fallen Order themed sets
(bar BD-1), so this 25th anniversary wave means they
can include the sought after figure without making
products from Fallen Order.

I agreee it should have come with a clone wars set, but

it’s the 25th anniversary minifigure so I guess it
doesn’t have to make sense.
