Pattern notes
- This square is worked in tapestry style crochet. You will need to carry the strand of
the yarn not being used by working over it, keeping all tails on the wrong side of your
work.
- For a neater finish, change colour before the final YO of the stitch before the one
you need to make using the new colour (see images for how to change colour)
- All stitches for the main square that follow the chart are DOUBLE CROCHET unless indicated
with a B (on the chart) or abbreviated as Bo in the instructions
- The number following the specified yarn (A or B) is the number of stitches that need to be
worked in that colour
- All mini BOBBLE stitches will be completed in yarn B.
- Mini bobble St: (3Tr together) *YO insert hook into stitch, YO and pull up a loop. YO and pull
through first two loops on hook (2 loops remaining on hook). Rep from * 2 more times in the
same stitch (4 loops on hook). YO and pull through all 4 loops.

- Ch 1 does not count as a st throughout

- the hidden stitch of round 3 of the border is the very first stitch after the ch2 sp which gets
covered by the cluster of treble stitches, so can only be seen when the treble stitches are moved
aside. (See photo tutorial of where it is located).

From this point onwards you will be working in rounds to complete the square border,
your square should look like this:

Round 1 [WS]. Ch1, *1dc in each st to end of row, ch2, dc in same st, rotate square, 1dc in st at
the end of each row, repeat from *once more, ch2, ss to 1st dc to join. [27 sts on each side, ch2 in
each corner]
Round 2. [RS]. Ch1, turn. *(1dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2-sp, 1dc in each stitch to next corner ch2-sp.
Repeat from * for each side, ss to 1st dc. Fasten off. [30 sts on each side, ch2 in each corner]

Round 3. [RS]. Using Yarn C, ch3 (counts as first tr) in any corner ch2-sp, (2tr, picot, 3tr) in same
sp,* sk hidden st, (sk next 2 sts, 1dc in next st, sk 2 sts (2tr, picot, 2tr) in next st) 4 times, sk next 2
sts, 1dc, sk 2 sts, (3tr, picot, 3tr) in corner, repeat from * twice, sk hidden st, (sk next 2 sts, 1dc in

Adding flowers
To add the flowers; insert hook around the post of a stitch where you would like your flower to
be placed. Place a slip knot on your hook and pull through. Ch5, work a ss around the post,
repeat from * twice more, then Fasten off. Using your hook, pull both ends through to the back
