GENERAL GEOMETRICAL TOLERANCES

1. Scope
This standard covers the general geometrical tolerances on straightness,
flatness, circularity, parallelism, perpendicularity, symmetry and run-out of
the feature of parts to be machines whose geometrical tolerances are not indicated
individually. Further, this standard may be applied to parts not to be machined.

2. Definition of Terms
Definition of terms mainly refferred to in this standard shall be in accordance
with TSZ2300G.

3. General Geometrical Tolerances

The general geometrical tolerances specified in this standard shall be used when
the tolerancing principle according to TSZ2001G is indicated in the title block
or notes on the drawing.

3.1 General Geometrical Tolerances for Single Feature

3.1.1 Straightness and Flatness
The general geometrical tolerances on straightness and flatness shall be given
in Table 1. In selecting ranges of nominal lengths from the Table 1, it shall
be based in the case of straightness on the length of the corresponding line
and in the case of flatness on the longer lateral length of the surface, or the
diameter of the circular surface.

GC 0.1 0.3 0.5 0.8 1.2 1.5

3.1.2 Circularity
The general geometrical tolerances on circularity is equal to the dimensional
tolerance of a diameter but in no case it shall be greater than the value for
general geometrical tolerances on run-out in Table 4.

3.2 General Geometrical Tolerances of Related Feature

3.2.1 Parallelism
The general geometrical tolerance on parallelism is the dimensional tolerance
of the corresponding relevant feature or the general tolerances on
straightness/flatness (Table 1), whichever is the greater. The longer feature
shall apply as the datum. If the features are of equal length, either may apply
as the datum.

3.2.2 Perpendicularity
The general geometrical tolerances on perpendicularity are given in Table 2.
The longer of the two features forming the rectangular angle shall apply as the
datum. If the two features are of equal length, either may apply as the datum.

GB 0.1 0.2 0.3 0.4 0.6
GC 0.4 0.8 1.0 1.5 2.0

3.2.3 Symmetry
The general geometrical tolerances on symmetry are given in Table 3. The longer
of the two relevant features shall apply as the datum. If the two features are
of equal length, either may apply as the datum.

3.2.4 Coaxiality
The general geometrical tolerance on coaxiality is not specified, but that of
run-out specified in Table 4 shall be used instead.

3.2.5 Run-out
The general tolerances on run-out (radial, and axial) are given in Table 4. The
longer of the two relevant features shall apply as the datum. If the two features
are of equal lengths, either may apply as the datum. If the corresponding
features are designated as bearing surfaces, they shall apply as the datum.

4. Indications on Drawings
If general tolerances according to this standard shall apply, the accuracy grade
must be made in the general geometrical tolerances column in the title block
on drawing (Fig. 1).
