XI. Read the passage and decide whether the statements are TRUE or
FALSE.
My name is Cathy and I am eighteen years old. Last summer I went to
Cambodia to do some volunteer work. I volunteered in an orphanage with
about 100 children. I worked with the twenty-five babies and the younger
children.
I loved working in the baby rooms of the orphanage. At first, it was really
hard to see so many babies without a home. But after some time, I loved the
babies like they were my own. I became especially attached to one of the
babies. Her name was Sothy. She was three months old.
The younger children were adorable. They all just wanted our attention
and love. I became extremely attached to a nine-year-old girl. The first day I
met her, she seemed very sad, and didn't play with the other children. By
the end of my time there she was laughing and smiling.
During my time at the orphanage I fed babies and played with them and
loved every minute of the time I was there. All the children were so sad
when I left but I do not think they were as sad as I was. This experience
changed my life. It was a summer that I didn’t waste.
