3. Taxi/Bus Booking App
Problem Statement
Transportation within and outside Buea can be inefficient due to the lack of an
organized booking system. Commuters waste time hailing taxis or visiting bus
terminals for ticket purchases.

A mobile app for taxi and bus bookings that allows users to book rides or bus
tickets conveniently from their homes. The app will improve the
transportation experience and save users time and money.
Design Considerations
• Use a minimalistic design for quick and easy booking.
• Highlight buttons for "Book Now" and fare details.
• Include user-friendly forms for trip details (e.g., destination and time).
• Prioritize speed and responsiveness in the user interface.
4. UB Orientation App for New Students
Problem Statement
New students at the University of Buea struggle to adapt due to a lack of
mentorship, study resources, and access to peer groups.

and disappointment among loved ones. (How do you feel when a friend or
close one forgets an important day or event in your life?)
Solution to Implement
A social app that reminds users and their networks of important events such
as birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements. The app fosters celebration and
acknowledgment within social circles.
Design Considerations
• Use vibrant colors to evoke celebration and positivity.
• Include a prominent "Add Event" button.
• Utilize card-based layouts for events with icons and images.
• Ensure seamless navigation and consistent visual elements.
6. Lost and Found App.
Problem Statement
In Buea and across Cameroon, many individuals lose important documents
and personal belongings such as ID cards, certificates, or gadgets. There is no
centralized or effective system to connect those who find these items with
their rightful owners, making recovery difficult and time-consuming.
Solution to Implement
A mobile app designed to help people recover lost documents and items by
connecting them with individuals who find these belongings. The app will use
a points-based reward system to incentivize users to report and return lost
items. Or some other approach that you choose.
Core suggested Features to Implement
1. Lost Item Reports: Allow users to post details about lost items with
descriptions and contact information.
2. Found Item Listings: Provide a platform for users to upload information
about found items.
3. Search and Filter Options: Enable users to search for lost or found
items by category, location, or date.
4. Points-Based Reward System: Assign points to users for reporting
found items, which can later be redeemed for monetary rewards or
discounts.
5. Notifications: Notify users when a matching item is reported as found
or lost.
Design Considerations
• Use a clear and user-friendly interface with easy navigation.
• Prioritize high visibility for key actions like "Report Lost Item" or "Report
Found Item."
• Include placeholders for item images and categories.
• Implement a visually appealing points system with progress indicators.
• Use consistent colors and icons to create a professional and
trustworthy appearance.
