ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) was established in 1985 by the Founder Chancellor,
Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar. It is one of the top-ranking universities in India, with over 52,000 full-time students and more than 3,200 faculty across all the
campuses: Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani in and around Chennai, Tiruchirappalli (in Tamil Nadu), Modinagar (in Uttar Pradesh), and
Sonepat (in Haryana), Amaravati (in Andhra Pradesh), and Gangtok (in Sikkim). The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate,
and doctoral programs across six faculties: Engineering & Technology, Management, Medicine & Health Sciences, Science & Humanities, Law, and
Agricultural Sciences.
In 2011, SRMIST hosted the 98th Indian Science Congress. The institution has a rich heritage of academic excellence and is a hub of bustling student
activities, with its green and beautiful campus serving as a second home to thousands of students pursuing higher education. SRMIST has achieved
global excellence through international alliances and collaborative initiatives. It collaborates with foreign universities like MIT, Carnegie Mellon Univer-
sity (CMU), and the University of Pittsburgh, offering a postgraduate academic program, MSIT-ESE. Over 200 students have been sponsored to 35
foreign universities, including Carnegie Mellon, UC Davis, Warwick, and the University of Western Australia.
SRMIST enjoys an unsurpassed reputation in academia and corporate circles, being a preferred source of world-class learning. The Ministry of
Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has recognized SRMIST as a Category I University. It is accredited by NAAC with an
'A++' grade and has been awarded a Four-Star rating by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a leading global higher education company. In the NIRF
ranking 2023, SRMIST ranked 13th in the engineering category and 12th in the University category.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest and most well-established departments at SRM IST. The department offers two undergradu-
ate programs, namely Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering with Computer Applications, and five postgraduate programs: Structural Engineering,
Construction Engineering Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Remote Sensing and GIS. Additionally, it offers a
Ph.D. program in all specializations. The curriculum includes essential courses such as Value Education, Foreign Languages, Industrial Training,
Personality Development, Yoga, Instrumentation, Computers, Management, and Economics, which are crucial for any successful Civil Engineer.
Students gain practical experience through field visits, industrial visits, visits to dams and irrigation structures, construction sites, etc., and receive
training in their field of study through summer internships. The department's thrust research areas include concrete technology, structural systems,
concrete bridges, soil-structure interaction, modern construction materials, environmental studies, and wetland management. Faculty members
contribute to academic and research development by publishing research articles, patents, and books, and regularly presenting papers at internation-
al and national conferences. All laboratories are well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipments. The B.Tech Civil Engineering program at the
Kattankulathur Campus is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET (www.abet.org) and the National Board of Accred-
itation (NBA).
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The International Conference on Civil Engineering Innovative Development in Engineering Advances (ICC IDEA-2025) is an amalgamation of academi-
cians and researchers aimed at developing innovative solutions for contemporary industrial problems. Innovative development in civil engineering is
crucial to meet future demands. The three-day program will facilitate the global exchange of scientific information from academic and research
communities. The international conference will be a one-stop destination addressing all industrial challenges—reducing material wastage, reusing
and recycling materials, implementing time- and cost-effective projects, and providing solutions to existing civil engineering problems for societal
benefits and improved indoor living. It aims to develop a well-connected network of individuals who can initiate innovative development and bridge
the gap between research and practice. Latest findings and solutions (economic, environmental, and social) will be presented and disseminated to
tackle global issues related to sustainability and innovative development in civil engineering. The objective of the program is to disseminate knowl-
edge related to the latest research in civil engineering to the global research community, promote research activities in institutions and industries,
encourage collaborations among researchers worldwide, and raise awareness about sustainable development. The main focus of ICC IDEA-2025 is
to explore new construction materials, innovative construction techniques, and rehabilitation procedures, thereby disseminating state-of-the-art
technologies in the field of civil engineering.
