powers to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.
• Operations to Eliminate Extremism:
o Operation Zarb-e-Azb (2014): Focused on clearing North Waziristan of
terrorist hideouts, reducing attacks significantly.
o Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (2017): Aimed at eliminating residual
terrorist threats nationwide and addressing extremism through
intelligence-led operations.
• Casualties and Losses: Over 80,000 lives have been lost, including civilians
and military personnel, with significant economic losses estimated at over
$120 billion.

global security by dismantling networks that posed threats worldwide.
• Collaboration with International Agencies: Pakistan works with
organizations like INTERPOL, the FBI, and other intelligence agencies to
disrupt terrorist financing and logistics.

country has taken concrete steps to ensure its peaceful use:
• Purpose of Nuclear Deterrence: Pakistan’s nuclear capability is maintained
as a deterrent against aggression, particularly in response to security
concerns from neighboring India.
• International Cooperation: Pakistan engages with the International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) to ensure adherence to international safety standards.

like the National Command Authority (NCA) to oversee its nuclear program
and prevent proliferation.
