Startup Procedure
VERIFY NO ONE IS WORKING ON EQUIPMENT THAT IS BEING SUPPLIED POWER FROM THE UPS SYSTEM,
SINCE THE UPS OUTPUT WILL BE ENERGIZED.
WHEN REMOVING POWER FROM THE UNIT, ALWAYS VERIFY WITH A METER THAT EMI CAPS/ASSEMBLIES
HAVE DISCHARGED BEFORE PERFORMING SERVICE. ONCE POWER IS REMOVED, WAIT 3 MINUTES BEFORE
VERIFYING WITH A METER THAT THE DC CAPS ARE DISCHARGED.

Connect a phase rotation meter to the Bypass input power
connections. Have the customer energize the input feeder to the
UPS. Check for proper input phase rotation (A-B-C). Have the
customer de-energize the input feeder. Remove the phase rotation
meter. Correct any discrepancies before continuing to next Step.
Completed
Connect a phase rotation meter to the bottom of CB1 (input
breaker). Have the customer energize the rectifier input feed to the
UPS. Check for proper rectifier input phase rotation (A-B-C).
Remove power and move the phase rotation meter to the bypass
input terminals. Apply bypass power and verify proper phase
rotation for bypass input. Remove power and disconnect the
rotation meter. Re-energize both rectifier input and bypass sources
and check for proper phasing between the input and bypass (A-A,
B-B, C-C). Remove incoming power.

Units that have Monitor code prior to version 2.0 will not illuminate the static switch LED and the output LED until the
internal rotary switch is in the bypass position.
Close CB1. Verify the Rectifier LED on the Mimic Display blinks
green. Verify the display indicates the rectifier goes through its start
up sequence concluding with the Rectifier LED lit solid green.

CompletedUnits that have
Monitor code prior to version 2.0
and inverter firmware prior to 1.7
will require "Inverter Work Mode"
be changed from "Normal" to
"Testing" to allow the inverter to
start when the unit is in the test
position. This setting is located in
the inverter parameters.
Press the Inverter On pushbutton. Verify proper inverter operation.
The Inverter LED flashes while the inverter is walking in, and after
60 seconds, the inverter LED lights solid green and the Static
Switch LED goes out.
CompletedUnits with Monitor
firmware prior to version 2.0 and
inverter firmware prior to 1.7 will
require "Inverter Work Mode" be
changed back to "Normal" before
proceeding to the next step.
When "Inverter Work Mode" is
changed to "Normal" this setting
change will cause the inverter to
turn off.
Press the Inverter Off pushbutton.
Completed
Rotate the Rotary Switch to the Bypass position. Verify the Bypass
LED and the Load LED both light green on the Mimic Panel.
Completed
On the Mimic Panel, the rectifier, inverter, load, and alarm LEDs
should all indicate green. The Battery and Bypass LEDs should be
off.

Operational Checks
Check the unit is operating on UPS (not on bypass). Allow the unit
to operate normally until the battery current on the display is less
than 2 amps. Open the input feeder to the UPS and verify unit runs
on battery. Perform a thermal scan of battery connections, then re-
apply input and confirm unit returns to normal operation.
