What is multiplication?

Multiplication is the process of determining the product of two or more

numbers in mathematics. A product, or an expression that specifies factors to
be multiplied, is what happens when you multiply two numbers in
mathematics.
Given that If each bag of tokens weighs 5 (³/₄) pounds and there are three
bags.
To calculate the weight of all the bags multiply the weight of each bag by the
number of the bags.
Total weight = 5 (³/₄) x 3
Total weight = 5 (³/₄) x 3
Total weight = ( 23 / 4 ) x 3
Total weight = 69 / 4 = 17( ¹ / ₄)
The correct option is C
i) 100 (ii) ₹ 600 (iii) 4%

Investment = ₹ 15,000, Market Value of each share = ₹ 150

Number of shares bought = Total InvestmentMarketValueoftheshare

= 15,000150
= 100
ii) Annual Income = Number of shares × Rate of dividend × Face value of one share
= 100 × 6100 × 100
= ₹ 600

1
iii) ₹ 600 is the income of ₹ 15000
∴ Percentage of income = (60015000× 100)
=4%

As per the given information, 6 men earn as much as 7 women which is equal
to the amount earned by 3 boys.
Also 4 boys earn as much as 5 girls do.
Now it's mentioned that a girl earns 8 annas a day. We need to find the
amount earned by a man in a day.
If one girl earns 8 annas a day, 5 girls will earn 40 annas a day which is
equivalent to the amount earned by 4 boys. So each boy earns 10 annas a
day.
3 boys will earn 30 annas a day which is equal to the amount earned by 6
men in a day.
So in one day, a man will earn 5 annas which is the required answer. None of
the provided options match.
General approach to solve these problems: Observe carefully from the
question, which quantities are directly proportional and which are inversely
proportional and approach step wise, and do a back calculation to be sure
about how to lead the steps.

ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑓−𝑝𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑half−pound packages can be made

from 10.25𝑝𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑠10.25pounds , divide the total weight of the
tea by the weight of one package

2Performthe division 10.25÷0.510.25÷0.5 , which is the same

as 10.25÷1/210.25÷1/2

3When dividing by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal.

So, 10.25÷1/210.25÷1/2 is the same as 10.25×210.25×2

4Multiply 10.2510.25 by 22 to get 20.520.5

5Convert20.520.5 into a mixed number, which is 201/2201/2
let x equal the original amount of money that he started
with.

he starts the first game with x.

he loses 1/3 of the money that he started the first game
with.
that means he loses 1/3 * x.

the money he has left after the first game is x - 1/3 * x.

simplify to get:
the money he has left after the first game is 2/3 * x.

he starts the second game with 2/3 * x.

he loses 3/5 of the money that he started the second game
with.
that means he loses 3/5 * 2/3 * x.

the money he has left after the second game is 2/3 * x - 3/5 *
2/3 * x.
simplify this to get:
the money he has left after the second game is 2/3 * x - 6/15
* x.

put everything under the common denominator of 15 and

you get:
the money he has left after the second game is 10/15 * x -
6/15 * x.
simplify to get:
the money he has left after the second game is 4/15 * x.

he starts the third game with 4/15 * x.

he loses 4/7 of the money that he started the third game

with.
that means he loses 4/7 * 4/15 * x.

the money he has left after the third game is 4/15 * x - 4/7 *
4/15 * x.

3
simplify this to get:
the money he has left after the third game is 4/15 * x -
16/105 * x.

put everything under the common denominator of 105 and

you get:
the money he has left after the third game is 28/105 * x -
16/105 * x.
simplify this to get:
the money he has left after the third game is 12/105 * x
simplify this further to get:
the money he has left after the third game is
4/35 * x.

that's your solution.

the average of two numbers is m𝑚 and one of the numbers is n𝑛, we can find
the other number using the formula for the average of two numbers.
The average of two numbers is calculated by adding the two numbers together
and then dividing by 2. So if the average is m𝑚 and one of the numbers is n𝑛,
we have:

5
n+x2=m𝑛+𝑥2=𝑚
where x𝑥 is the other number we are looking for.
To solve for x𝑥, we can multiply both sides of the equation by 2 to get rid of the
denominator:
n+x=2m𝑛+𝑥=2𝑚
Now, we can isolate x𝑥 by subtracting n𝑛 from both sides:
x=2m−n𝑥=2𝑚−𝑛
Therefore, the other number is 2m−n2𝑚−𝑛.
Market price =1100
Discount of 10% is given on marked price,
So selling price will be=1100−1100×10100
=(1100−110)
=990
Even after giving discount of 10%, dealer gains 10% on cost price,
If selling price is 110, cost price will be 100
If selling price is 990, cost price will be=100110×990
=900
Cost price is Rs900

Explanation:
Did you perhaps mean "in w weeks and d days"? If so the answer would be 7w+d
Let's
break down the given information and set up an equation to solve for the initial
amount.

Let the initial amount in rupees be x and in paisa be y.

According to the problem:

1. Initial amount = Rs. x and y paisa = 100x + y paisa
2. After spending Rs. 3.50, he was left with Rs. 2y and 2x paisa = 100(2x) + 2y
paisa

Now, since he spent Rs. 3.50, the difference between the initial amount and the
amount left should be Rs. 3.50:

6
Initial amount - Amount spent = Amount left
100x + y - 350 = 200x + 2y

Rearranging the equation:

100x + y - 200x - 2y = 350
-100x - y = 350

Now, we know that the man was left with Rs. 2y and 2x paisa, so we can write:
100(2x) + 2y = 2(100x + y)
200x + 2y = 200x + 2y

This equation is true, which means the initial amount is correct.

Therefore, the initial amount is Rs. 100.

Average age of 40 students = 12 years

Total age = 40 × 12 = 480 years
Let the teacher be the 41st member.
Average age now = 13 years
Total age of 41 = 41 × 13 = 533 years
Age of teacher = 533 - 480 = 53 years
We will take an exponential approach here.

acid? Water=36-27 = 9 gallons.

Answer:
Let's break this down step by step!
1. 4 boys = 5 girls
- So, 1 boy = 5/4 girls
2. 3 boys = 7 women
- Substituting the value of 1 boy, we get:
- 3 × (5/4 girls) = 7 women
- So, 1 woman = (5/4) × (3/7) girls = 15/28 girls
3. 6 men = 7 women
- Substituting the value of 1 woman, we get:
- 6 men = 7 × (15/28 girls)

9
- So, 1 man = (15/28) × (7/6) girls = 35/24 girls
Now, we know that a girl earns 8 annas a day. Since 1 man = 35/24 girls, a
man earns:
- (35/24) × 8 annas = 35 × (1/3) annas = 35/3 annas
Therefore, a man earns 35/3 annas a day.
To convert this to a whole number, we can multiply by 4 (since there are 4
annas in a rupee):
- (35/3) × 4 = 140/3 rupees
So, a man earns 140/3 rupees a day.
