Directions: The teacher will group the class into 3 groups and let them
identify the following scenarios if SAFE or UNSAFE and briefly explain the
reason why.

Safety Signage
1. Emergency Exits and Evacuation Routes
o Signage: Clearly marked exit signs, evacuation route maps, and
emergency exit doors.
o Purpose: To guide individuals to safety in case of an emergency.
2. Fire Safety
o Signage: Fire extinguisher locations, fire alarm pull stations, and fire hose
reel locations.
o Purpose: To ensure quick access to firefighting equipment and alert
individuals to fire hazards.
3. Electrical Hazards
o Signage: Caution signs for electrical hazards, warning signs for high-
voltage areas, and instructions for safe use of electrical equipment.
o Purpose: To prevent electrical accidents and ensure safe handling of
electrical equipment.
4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
o Signage: Instructions for required PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, or
lab coats.
o Purpose: To remind and enforce the use of appropriate protective gear.
5. First Aid
o Signage: Location of first aid kits and emergency contact numbers.
o Purpose: To provide immediate access to first aid supplies and contact
information in case of an injury.
6. No Smoking
o Signage: “No Smoking” signs, especially near flammable materials.
o Purpose: To prevent fire hazards and promote a safe environment.
7. Chemical Hazards
o Signage: Labels and warnings for hazardous chemicals, including
instructions for safe handling and disposal.
o Purpose: To ensure safe use and storage of chemicals, and to inform
about potential hazards.
8. Workplace Safety Procedures
o Signage: Instructions for safe use of tools and equipment, including
warnings for specific hazards.
o Purpose: To ensure that procedures are followed correctly to prevent
accidents.
