IV. TEACHER’S ACTIVITY PUPIL’S ACTIVITY
PROCEDURES
Preparatory Good morning class, before we
Activities formally proceed with our
discussion, may we first bow our
heads for a short prayer.

(Short Prayer)

Again, good morning. How are you

today?
We are fine ma’am.
I’m glad that you are all present
today. Before we start, please be
reminded of the following rules for
our new normal classes.
Always wear your face mask.
Sanitize your hands often.
Always observe social distancing.
And listen intently and participate
actively in our discussion.
Maintain the cleanliness of our
room.

Are you excited?

Yes Ma’am, I am excited.
A. Engage Have you ever asked yourself
where the rain is coming from or
where do the water during flood go
after the sun shines for several
days?
Yes ma’am. I usually asked how the water
disappears. And where is rain coming
from.
To begin with may we have first a
look on this picture. What can you
say about is?

It means that the rainwater falls on the

stream and when the sun shines, the water
goes up and it will be collected on the
clouds.

Yes, and that explains why it rains

and how the water disappears after
several days.

B. Explore
That is our topic for today. We
shall be discussing about the phases
of water cycle.

At the end of our 50-minute

discussion you should be able to:
a. identify the four phases of
water cycle;
b. illustrate water cycle based
on its definition : and
c. describes the importance of
watercycle.
Do you think water is important?

Water is the most essential and abundant

liquid on earth.
Yes, we use water in almost all the
things we do like drinking, bathing,
cooking, washing, swimming,
putting out fire and the like. But we
never lack water, the water is
always sufficient because earth is a
water planet.
The abundance of water states that
it is always in an endless movement
and is constantly moving over
period of time.

This movement is called Water

Cycle, also known as hydrological
cycle in which it needs energy from
the sun and Earth’s gravity to keep
moving on its own cycle. Hence,
what is water cycle?

Water cycle is a continuous circulation of

water between land, bodies of water, and
the atmosphere through different
components such as evaporation,
condensation, precipitation, and
collection.
Yes, and we shall be discussing
each component, little by little.
C. Explain
(Makes use of Cycle Chart and
Pictures)

What happens in the water when

it’s too hot?
It disappears.

May we begin with

EVAPORATION.

When it is too hot, the water from

the bodies of water will evaporate.
It will turn into water vapour and
then rises up and stay in the
atmosphere through earth’s gravity.
Not only that, moist or sweat
coming from human, soil, animals,
and plants also evaporates and rises
up in the atmosphere through the
process of Transpiration.

When the water moves upward, it is

called EVAPORATION.

What happens to the water vapor?

After evaporation is
CONDENSATION. It happens
when the water vapour cools and
condenses in the atmosphere until it
becomes droplets of water which
form into clouds.

Which picture will be pasted on the

next circle?

What happens when there is too

much droplet in the clouds?

The cloud gets darker, and rain will pour

That is PRECIPITATION. down.

What is precipitation?

It occurs when the clouds become

saturated which make it looks heavy and
dark in the sky. This time, it is now ready
to fall back into the land and bodies of
water in the form of rain, sleet, and snow.
You’re right, the rainwater will
then be collected again in rivers and
othe bodies of water.
This phase is the COLLECTION
and it occurs as the rain, sleet, and
snow fall back and run into the land
and other bodies of water such lake,
rivers, and oceans where the cycle
starts all over again.

D. Elaborate Again, what are the phases of

water cycle? The phases are EVAPORATION,
CONDENSATION, PRECIPITATION
AND COLLECTION.
Yes now. Let us perform this
activity.

Activity 1: Connection Direction:

Match each word with each
definition by writing the letter of
the correct answer.
COLUMN A

___1. Evaporation
___2. Condensation
___3. Precipitation 1. C-Evaporation happens when the bodies
___4. Collection of water are heated by the sun and then
___5. Water Cycle
evaporate.

2. A-Condensation is when bodies of

water are heated by the sun and then
evaporate.

3. B-Precipitation is when the water fall

down on earth in the form of rain, snow,
sleet, and hail.

4. D-Collection rain, snow, sleet, and hail

will go back to underground.

5.E-Water cycle is the continues

circulation of water between land, air and
bodies of water.

Great Job Kids!

To sum-up the discussion, Fill in

the blank in order operationally
define Water to operationally
define water cycle.
1.____________________ is a
continuous circulation of water
between land, bodies of water, and
the atmosphere through different
components such as 2.
______________,
3._____________,
4._______________, and
5._______________.

Impressive!

During rainy seasons, what did you

observe? What happens when we
are being visited by storm? We experience flooding.
Flooding destroys the crops, homes and
injures a lot of people. It may also result to
drowning which could lead to death.

Why do we experience flooding? We experience flood because the rivers

and other bodies of water that collects the
excess water are already polluted with
garages.
You are correct. Aside from the
cutting of trees, which can help in
sipping excess water, the trashes
thrown on bodies of water blocks
the water from being collected on
it. The garages also occupied the
spaces for the water resulting to
flood.

What should we do therefore to

prevent flooding? Let us start planting.
We must clean the rivers.
We must have some concern with the
environment by practicing proper waste
disposal and help in the healing of the
environment because we are also the one
suffering the consequences of our acts.
Nice one! I am very much touched
with your words. But please, let our
actions speaks louder than our
words. Make sure that you will not
contribute in aggravating our
current situation. Climate change is
real and that we must also have
some initiative to help by taking
care of the air, the land, the water
and our home, planet Earth.
E. Evaluate Write your name on the paper and
for 5 minutes, I want you to label
the phases of water cycle on the
appropriate boxes to complete our
illustration.

F. Enrichment/ For your performance output.

Additional
Activities To evaluate what you have
learned, for 15 points, I want you
to draw or illustrate the water
cycle.
Draw how evaporation,
condensation, precipitation and
collection happens.
You are given 10 minutes to
accomplish this task.

You may color your work if you

have available crayons. Be
creative and keep your work
clean.
