Guía Completa de los Tiempos Verbales en Inglés

​1. Presente Simple (Present Simple)


Uso: Acciones habituales, verdades generales, horarios.
​ Estructura:
​ Afirmativa: Sujeto + verbo (en forma base; +s para he/she/it)
​ Ejemplo: She works every day.
​ Negativa: Sujeto + do/does + not + verbo
​ Ejemplo: They don’t like coffee.
​ Interrogativa: Do/Does + sujeto + verbo?
​ Ejemplo: Does he play football?


​2. Presente Continuo (Present Continuous)
Uso: Acciones en progreso, planes futuros.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + am/is/are + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: I am studying now.
​ Negativa: She isn’t working today.
​ Interrogativa: Are you coming tomorrow?


​3. Pasado Simple (Past Simple)
Uso: Acciones completadas en el pasado.
​ Estructura:
​ Afirmativa: Sujeto + verbo en pasado (regular: +ed; irregular: forma específica)
​ Ejemplo: We visited Paris last year.
​ Negativa: Sujeto + did not + verbo
​ Ejemplo: He didn’t go to the party.
​ Interrogativa: Did + sujeto + verbo?
​ Ejemplo: Did you see the movie?


​4. Pasado Continuo (Past Continuous)


Uso: Acciones en progreso en un momento pasado.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + was/were + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: She was reading at 8 p.m.
​ Negativa: They weren’t sleeping when I arrived.
​ Interrogativa: Was he working yesterday?


​5. Presente Perfecto (Present Perfect)
Uso: Experiencias, acciones con relevancia presente.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + have/has + participio pasado
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: I have visited London.
​ Negativa: She hasn’t finished her homework.
​ Interrogativa: Have you ever been to Japan?



​6. Presente Perfecto Continuo (Present Perfect Continuous)
Uso: Acciones que comenzaron en el pasado y continúan o tienen efecto ahora.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + have/has + been + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: We have been working for three hours.
​ Negativa: He hasn’t been studying recently.
​ Interrogativa: Have they been playing all day?


​7. Pasado Perfecto (Past Perfect)
Uso: Acciones anteriores a otro momento en el pasado.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + had + participio pasado
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: She had left when I arrived.
​ Negativa: They hadn’t finished their meal.
​ Interrogativa: Had you seen the movie before?


​8. Pasado Perfecto Continuo (Past Perfect Continuous)
Uso: Acciones en progreso antes de otro momento pasado.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + had + been + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: I had been waiting for two hours when he called.
​ Negativa: She hadn’t been working long before she quit.
​ Interrogativa: Had they been arguing before I arrived?


​9. Futuro Simple (Future Simple)


Uso: Predicciones, decisiones espontáneas.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + will + verbo
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: I will call you tomorrow.
​ Negativa: He won’t come to the party.
​ Interrogativa: Will you help me?


​10. Futuro Continuo (Future Continuous)
Uso: Acciones en progreso en un momento futuro.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + will + be + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: They will be studying at this time tomorrow.
​ Negativa: She won’t be traveling next week.
​ Interrogativa: Will you be working at 9 a.m.?


​11. Futuro Perfecto (Future Perfect)
Uso: Acciones completadas antes de un momento futuro.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + will + have + participio pasado
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: I will have finished the report by Friday.
​ Negativa: They won’t have arrived by then.
​ Interrogativa: Will you have completed the task?


​12. Futuro Perfecto Continuo (Future Perfect Continuous)
Uso: Acciones en progreso hasta un momento futuro.
​ Estructura: Sujeto + will + have + been + verbo-ing
​ Ejemplo:
​ Afirmativa: By next year, I will have been working here for 10 years.
​ Negativa: She won’t have been studying long enough.
​ Interrogativa: Will they have been traveling for a month?
