Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Routinary Activities

a. Prayer

Good afternoon! It is a great day

to start our day with a simple (Honee says a short prayer)
prayer. Please lead the prayer
Honee.

b. Greetings

Good afternoon, Grade 10 – Good afternoon, ma’am!

Sampaguita!

c. Classroom Management
Okay, before you can take your
seat kindly arrange your chair (Students follow)
properly and pick up the pieces of
trash under and beside your
chair. At the count of 5…4…3…
2…1

Okay, you can now take your

seat.

For our classroom rules, you

need to remember the word
MATH. Since our subject for
today is Math.

1. Maintain focus and participate

actively.
2. Ask questions and seek
clarification when needed.
3. Talk appropriately and
respectfully to your teacher and
as well as to your classmates.
4. Handle challenges with a
positive attitude and
perseverance.

These rules help us create a

safe, respectful, and productive
learning environment for
everyone. Is that clear?
Yes, ma’am!
d. Checking of Attendance

Okay, where is Miss Secretary?

Miss Secretary, is anyone absent Ma’am, there is no absence for today.

today?

That is great!

e. Checking of Assignment

Last time I gave you an

assignment. So, please bring it
out and pass it to the center on a
count of 5…4…3…2…1 Yes, ma’am!

f. Recall

What did we discuss in our previous We discussed the Quipper application,

meeting? Anyone? ma’am!

Very good! So, what is Quipper? Ma’am, Quipper is an online learning

platform that provides educational
resources and tools for students and
teachers.
Absolutely!
Quipper has its features, what are Interactive lessons, assessment tools, real-
they? time feedback and personalized learning.

Very good!

Do you still have any questions

about this topic? None, ma’am.

B. Motivation

Now, are you ready for our new topic Yes, ma’am!
for today?

That is good! Well then, to know what

our topic is all about, let us have a
game called “Combine Me”. This
game is a group activity. We will
divide the class into four groups. All
four groups will fall in line, and then
we will flash mathematical equations.
One mathematical equation is equal
to one representative per group
wherein you must answer as quickly
as the other groups by stepping
forward. First, one to step forward will
be given a chance to answer. If your
answer is correct, you will stay in your
position and if your answer is wrong,
you will take a step back and the
other group will have a chance to
steal the answer. Can you still follow?
Yes, ma’am.
If the representative of one group
already got the correct answer, the
representatives of the other groups
will be eliminated and it is now time
for your other group member to
participate. There will be a total of five
steps but the first group to get to the
third step will be the winner. Is that
clear?
Yes, ma’am.
Before we start the game move all the
chairs to the separate side. At the
count of 5…4…3…2…1

You can now form a line with your

group. Let us now start the game!

Equations:
1.) 2 - (5) + 3 - (-4) = Answers:
2.) -6 + (-3) - 2 + (7) = 4
3.) 4 - (-2) + 8 - (3) = -4
4.) -5 - (1) + 6 - (-2) = 11
5.) 3 + (-4) - 2 + (5^2) = 2
6.) -7 - (-3) + 2 - (1) = 22
7.) 6 - (2) + 4 - (-3) = -3
8.) -3 + (5) - 1 + (-4) = 11
9.) 2 - (-3) + 4 - (1) = -3
10.) -4 + (2) - 3 + (-1) = 8
-6

Thank you, groups 1 and 2, now the

Group (number of groups gets the
highest score). They will be the ones
who will get the prize.

C. Lesson Proper

Based on our game earlier, is it easy

for you to solve the mathematical
equations? No, ma’am.

What are the challenges you Ma’am, I encounter that the way we
encounter when you mentally solve mentally solve this many mathematical
the equations? equations some of us are confused
because of the negative and positive signs,
that’s why sometimes we come up with the
wrong answer.
Okay, but somehow you did a great
job answering it mentally.

Do you think that it is important to Yes, ma’am, I think that it is important to

solve it easily? make it easy for us to solve it in the fastest
way we know.

Exactly you have a point, that's why

we will teach you the fastest way to
solve this kind of equation and this
application is called Microsoft
Mathematics.

Can someone describe what you

think are the features of this Ma’am this kind of application consists of
application? Based on our game how to solve different equations of
earlier. mathematics.

Very good!
Your classmate's answer is connected
to the apps that we will discuss.

Can anyone read the definition of
Microsoft Mathematics? Yes, Kate. Microsoft Mathematics - it is quick, free,
and effortlessly solves even the most
challenging math problems.

will be divided into three groups. Each
group has a different task to perform
for 10 minutes. During the task, one
of your members is allowed to use
mobile phone to answer the group
task by only using Microsoft
Mathematics. Can you still follow
class? Yes, ma’am!

Additionally, you need to be creative

in presenting your task afterward. The
first group who will finish the task with
the correct and complete solution will
be the winner of this activity.

Is that clear? Yes, ma’am!

Do you have any questions or
