DIVERSITY OF WILDLIFE
The wildlife of india consists a mix of
different types of organisms . Apart from
a handful of major farm organisms ,
India also has a wide variety of
organisms native to it. It is home to the
royal bengal tiger, Asiatic lion, golden
langur, wild dogs, sloth bear, Himalayan
black bear, snow leopard, alligators,,
Indian bison, red panda, wild asian water
buffalo, the dhole, striped hyena, Asiatic
elephant and the Himalayan wolf.

2500 members of the
species remain in the world.

RECENT EXTINCTIONS
The exploitation of land and forest
resources by humans along with
trapping and hunting for food and sports
has led to many recent extinctions in
the wildlife of india. These species
include mammals such as wild zebu,
javan rhinoceros and sumatran
rhinoceros. Extinction of many smaller
species is not confirmed while some of
the species have not been seen since
