    Im starting my 8th year teaching
    I have also taught fifth grade, and second
    grade, but third is my favorite.

    Our school is a small community. In our community,
    our class is like a small family, we will decide as a
    group what is most important to us in order to
    function best and be the most successful. This will
    drive our creation of a Class Constitution together
    in the first week.

    My non-negotiables are:
    Be kind, respectful and responsible.
    Be organized and follow directions.

    READ READ READ (for
    entertainment/enjoyment/fun)
    Study Math Facts ~Students will receive flash
    cards at their individual level as well as a weekly
    fact practice sheet. (accurately solve 20 problems
    in 60 seconds, 3rd grade expectation is to pass all
    30 levels by the end of the year)
    Cursive Practice

    We have a school-wide field trip planned to the DC


    Zoo on October 25th we are in the planning phase
    of another one (hopefully two) in April/May
    volunteer training needed for chaperones
    Regrouping for Guided Reading based on Reading
    Levels
    Importance of reading (ANYTHING) at home
    Behavior System-card flipping (purple-exceeding,
    green-meeting, yellow-approaching, red-not meeting
    expectations)
    Handouts from the office will come home on
    Thursdays
