    My Adventures in the Philippines
    Last summer I had the privilege of traveling abroad and got the opportunity to
    explore both Hong Kong and the Philippines. This was an exciting adventure
    for me because it was my first time traveling outside of the United States and
    I got to meet some of my extended family in the Philippines.
    The following slides will highlight some of the most memorable parts of my
    trip; which includes a trip to Rizal Park and the Museum of Anthropology, A
    hike around an active Volcano, a visit to Cagsawa Ruins and family time at a
    beach side resort.
    Cagsawa Ruins

    Cagsawa Ruins are located in the


    Daraga municipality of the Albay
    region of the Philippines, where my
    family has lived for hundreds of
    years.
    The Ruins include a small Dutch
    town that was devastated by an
    eruption of Mayon Volcano, the
    areas most active volcano.
    In the pictures you will see the bell
    tower of the towns church, it is the
    most prominent feature that
    remains on the small town.

    AGM Beach Resort

    After a trip to Cagsawa I


    met up with some of my
    relatives at a nearby
    beach resort. It turned
    out to be a two hour
    drive in taxi, but was
    worth it when I arrived.
    I got to meet my Aunt
    and Uncle for the first
    time and enjoyed a few
    days beachside; drinking
    coconut water and
    getting to know them.
    Bulusan Volcano
    After a few days of relaxation my
    family and I took a day trip to
    Bulusan Volcano.
    There we hiked around Bulusan
    Lake which lies at the base of the
    volcano.
    They also had the option of
    kayaking, a two day trip to the rim
    of the volcano and hanging
    bridges. We stuck to the 2-mile
    hike and thoroughly enjoyed our
    visit!
    Museum of Anthropology

    We finished our trip with a journey


    into the heart of the Philippines by
    traveling by plane to Manila, the
    capital.
    There we visited Rizal Park and the
    Museum of Anthropology.
    The Museum included many
    exhibits. The pictures Ive included
    are from a textile and clothing
    exhibit, an exhibit on the native
    woman and an exhibit featuring
    artifacts from the battle of the San
    Diego!
