This is a highly stable integrated circuit that can produce accurate time
delays and oscillations. The 555 Timer has three operating modes,
bistable, monostable and astable mode. The 555 Timer IC in this project
is configured as an Astable Multivibrator.
• 1 x CD4017 Decade Counter IC
The CD4017 is a CMOS Decade counter IC. CD4017 is used for low range
counting applications. It can count from 0 to 10 (the decade count). The
circuit designed by using this ic will save board spacand also time required
to design the circuit.
• Potentiometer
A potentiometer is a three terminal resistor in which the resistance is manually varied
to control the flow of electric current.
Increasing or decreasing the resistance of the potentiometer controls the flow of
electric current. If we increase the resistance of the potentiometer, large amount of
electric current is blocked and only a small amount of electric current is allowed. On
the other hand, if we reduce the resistance of the potentiometer, a large amount of
electric current is allowed and only a small amount of electric current is blocked.

• 470uF Capacitors
These are high quality NIC 470uF, 16V radial leaded miniature
aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
These capacitors are frequently used for low frequency filtering,
providing power supply bulk capacitance, charge pumps, energy
storage and similar applications where you need a lot of
capacitance.

Solar panels are those devices which are used to absorb the sun's rays and
convert them into electricity or heat.
A solar panel is actually a collection of solar (or photovoltaic) cells, which
can be used to generate electricity through photovoltaic effect. These cells are
arranged in a grid-like pattern on the surface of solar panels.
Also, solar panels are installed outdoors as they need sunlight to get charged.
