Usage of Cell Phone and

Learning Performance
Introduction
• Rationale
• In global study our lives has been change from the era of communication. There
is a conflicting priority of young people, parents and teachers in relation to the
mobile phone devices. Teachers are more concerned about this issue, such as
discipline in the classroom worried about means of contacting their children
(Haruna et., 2016). Here in the Philippines mobile phones brought better
information access for students. Based on the study of (Blumstock & Eagle
2010) that mobile phone is bad for students. As we observe here in ANHS they
use cell phone for browsing information. On the other hand they use it for texting
or playing games.
Research Objectives
• Aims to investigate the impact of mobile phones usage on the learning
performance with the specific objectives such as:

1. to describe the level usage of cell phone by the students.

2. to describe the level learning performance of students through the
use of cell phones.
3. to describe the significant relationship in the usage level of cell
phones and learning performance of students.
Hypothesis
• The hypothesis is tested at 0.05 level of significant
1. There is significance relationship between the level of using cell phone of
students and learning performance in Grade 10 students in ANHS.
Review Related Literature
• Stated that the teacher attributed the lower grades to the distractions
caused by using cell phones (Papakie et al., 2012).
• It is known that students using cell phone using class are experiencing
negative side effect with their academic achievement (Junco, 2012).
• Students use mobile phone computing device, to interact with each other
and share their knowledge and skills (Joanne Gikas & Michael Grant,
2013).

It is known that students using cell phone during class are experiencing negative side effect
with their academic achievement (Junco, 2012)
Recommendation
• The school administrator should have a program for not allowing students
to use cell phone inside the school for their learning.
• Department of Education must support the school program ad coordinate
to the school head.
• The government should provide basic needs of the school.
