    People have diverse perceptions of values and beliefs. These may depend on their one’s attitudes
    and personalities regarding life, fantasy, and reality. Choosing the four temperaments as an anchor
    for discussion, this decreases the spectrum of personalities, values, and beliefs, into four concrete
    categories. Hence, the four temperaments; phlegmatic, melancholic, sanguine, and choleric.
    The Phlegmatic goes through life
    doing as little as possible, quietly, and
    expending little energy. It is not clear
    whether the phlegmatic has very little
    energy, or it is because they refuse to
    use what little energy they do have.

    The Phlegmatic is the most stable
    temperament and the most stubborn
    when it comes to taking changes.
    Because of their tendency to
    uninvolvement, they are natural
    negotiators and diplomats.
    People with Melancholic personalities love
    traditions. Women cook for men; men open
    doors for women.

    They love their families and friends alike and


    they do not look for novelty and adventure.

    They value optimism and they believe that
    life is exciting and fun-filled. Inactivity causes
    them stress.

    They relate well to other people’s feelings.

    They are faithful and loyal but, not
    committed.

    They never recognize their failures.

    They have a severe case of destructive


    behavior.
    They value their pride and their ego so much.
    They struggle to accept anything perceived
    as criticism.
    They believe that proving themselves right is
    sometimes better than reaching the truth.
    When they commit mistakes, they will often
    blame these mistakes to others because
    they’re afraid that if they admit in making
    these mistakes, their ego will be damaged.

    They value their image. Their image is next to
    their pride in terms of value.
    They rarely show fear and weakness because,
    again, they feel like their pride will be
    tarnished if they do so. Cholerics will only
    show weakness if they gain something from
    it.
