INTRODUCTION.
The report starts from the importance of merchandise distribution and distribution channels and
mutual relationships of the participants in them. Development of distribution channels based on
the concentration processes and integration of functions is emphasized. In this context, the
position of retail in distribution system is defined in terms of its business units and new
elements in their design related to the application of certain business models.
The basis for this development lies in new technological possibilities, i.e. opportunities offered
by modern information technologies and new understanding of the connection between physical
commodity processes. In this sense, modern vertical marketing systems, new business models
and multi-channel retailing can be observed.
The demand for extruded snacks is expected to grow rapidly on account of rising fortification to
include healthy ingredients. The increasing utilization of local savory snacks is expected to
propel the demand for these products over the forecast period.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Dholakia and Dholakia, (1993) opined that technical progress as measured through total
factor productivity growth has not been directly determined by capital, labour or capital per
worker. After carrying out the research they have concluded that the importance of potato
cultivation has increased day by day and the farmers have shifted from traditional rice-based
cropping system to high value cash crops like potato in the season.
Neha Gupta, (2014) previously lays was a famous chips brand. Everyone preferred lays only.
But after introduction of Balaji wafers its sales have increased. Balaji wafers offer large
quantity in fewer rupees. Not only quantity but also quality us pretty good. It also has huge
different flavors. The flavors are tomato, chat Chaska, masala, cream n onion’s many more. In
5rupees packet it has more chips. It is a huge and famous brand and hence it us available
everywhere and in every shop. It has totally overtaken lays. Now on one but lays. Balaji is best
among everything else. Its packing is also hygienic and good.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Statement of Problem
It is extremely crucial to know the retailer satisfaction level towards the products of Balaji Wafers
Private Limited. We need to know that how many retailers sell the product of Balaji.
Which other brand product do they sell? Are they satisfied with the distribution system? Are
dealers providing services which they need? Do they want any promotion efforts? Through the
analysis, interpretation and findings from this study these issues can be solved.
Research Objectives
To study the production and marketing strategy of Nankeens (Snack foods) In Rajkot Region. To know the
production of local made unbranded Farsan snack food products and their sales performance in Rajkot
Region.
To know the process and role of distributors& retailers in distribution channels of Nankeen Products in
Rajkot Region. To know the buying behavior & consumption pattern of Nankeen Snack food products in
Rajkot Region.
To know the problems & prospects of wholesalers, distributors and retailers and to suggest the suitable
remedies to overcome the problem’s.
Scope of Study
Scope of the study shows the area and fields covered under the study. In my research work I had covered all
the retail outlets of the Rajkot City. It includes the following:

FINDINGS & SUGGESTIONS
According to the retailers of competitive enough.
Retailers have complaint about fewer profit margins.
Retailers are unaware about certain products such as Ex. Lemon Wafers.
Customers are also unaware of these products so the sales are also less.
There is shortage of products during festivals because of fluctuation in supply.
Retailers also need stand for the display of the products.
CONCLUSION
Both the snacks and savories have minute difference but it also denotes that there is an absence
of above in chips variants so it has good opportunity to launch its products in different prices to
compete with competitors.
There is no difference between margins given to wholesalers from snacks and savories. The
most of retailers are agreed towards the timely delivery of chips as compare to savories. This
means that snacks needs to improve its delivery system in order to match demand and supply in
market.
If we compare a service provided by both the brand, Balaji is having an upper handover lays.
So we can say that, Bingo has very good to increase its service quality and distribution network
to satisfy and retain retailers as well as consumers for long period.
