PROBLEMA 1
Refer to the circuit represented in Figure, while noting that the same current
flows through each element. The voltage-controlled dependent source provides
a current which is five times as large as the voltage Vx .
(a) For VR = 10 V and Vx = 2 V, determine the power absorbed by each element.
(b) Is element A likely a passive or active source? Explain
(c) For VR = 100 V and Vx = 92 V, determine the power supplied by each element.
(d) Verify that the algebraic sum of the supplied powers is equal to zero
PROBLEMA 2
The circuit depicted in Figure contains a dependent current source; the
magnitude and direction of the current it supplies are directly determined
by the voltage labeled v1 . Note that therefore i2 = − 3v1 . Determine the
voltage v1 if v2 = 33i2 and i2 = 100 mA
PROBLEMA 3
In the circuit shown in Figure, the resistor values are unknown, but the 2V
source is known to be supplying a current of 7 A to the rest of the circuit.
Calculate the current labeled i2.
PROBLEMA 4
The circuit of Figure represents a system comprised of an LED sign powered
by a combination of battery storage and three solar panels. The panels are not
equally illuminated, so the current each supplies can vary, although the voltage
across each is forced to be the same. If IA = 4.5 A, IB = 4.3 A, and IC = 4.6 A,
calculate the current flowing into the battery if the LED sign draws 5.1 A
PROBLEMA 5
For the circuit of Figure (which employs a model for the dc operation of
a bipolar junction transistor biased in active region), IC is measured to be
1.5 mA. Calculate IB and IE.
PROBLEMA 5
In the circuit of Figure, it is determined that v1 = 3 V and v3 = 1.5 V. Calculate
vR and v2.
PROBLEMA 6

Determine the value of vx as labeled in the circuit of Fig.

PROBLEMA 7
(a) Determine a numerical value for each current and voltage (i1, v1, etc.) in
the circuit of Figure.
(b) Calculate the power absorbed by each element and verify that they sum to
zero
PROBLEMA 8
Making appropriate use of resistor combination techniques, calculate i3 and vx
in the circuit of Fig.
PROBLEMA 9
Calculate the voltage labeled vx in the circuit of Figure after first simplifying,
using appropriate source and resistor combinations
PROBLEMA 10
In the circuit of Figure, only the voltage vx is of interest. Simplify the circuit
using appropriate resistor combinations and iteratively employ voltage division
to determine vx.
PROBLEMA 11
For the circuit of Figure, determine the value of the voltage labeled vx
PROBLEMA 12
For the circuit of Figure, determine the value of the voltage labeled vx
PROBLEMA 13
For the circuit shown in Figure, determine a numerical value for the voltage
labeled v1
PROBLEMA 14
Determine the voltage vx in the circuit of Figure and the power supplied by
the 1 A source
PROBLEMA 15
For the circuit of Figure, determine all four nodal voltages
PROBLEMA 16
Determine the power dissipated in the 4 Ω resistor of the circuit shown in
Figure
PROBLEMA 17
Employ mesh analysis to obtain values for ix and va in
the circuit of Fig.
PROBLEMA 18
For the circuit of Figure, determine the mesh current i1 and the power
dissipated by the 1 Ω resistor
PROBLEMA 19
Determine the power absorbed by the 10 Ω
resistor in Fig.
PROBLEMA 20
Find the nodal voltages through in the circuit of Fig
