    ITS USES IN BANK
    WHAT IS INTRANET…..?
    • The term Intranet is derived from two words: ‘Intra’ which
    means within and ‘Net’ which group of interconnected
    computers.
    • Intranet are predominantly used by employees to search for
    information, communication across an organization, and
    manage workflow.
    INTERNET V/S INTRANET

    Internet Intranet
    As stated, the Internet is a globally connected Because of a limited range, the total numbers of
    network; users' number is comparatively much users on Intranet are limited. When compared to the
    higher than Intranet. Internet, Intranet has very few users.

    Anyone can access and use it. Only certain people are authorized to use Intranet
    because it is a company's internal network, so
    accessible by the employees or admin who have
    login credentials.
    The Internet is a type of public network. The intranet is a type of private network installed
    mainly for any organization operations.
    The Internet includes several intranets. The intranet is like a subset of the Internet. Intranet
    can only be used using the Internet but with certain
    restrictions and security practices.
    USE OF INTRANET IN BANKS
    A bank intranet is an indispensable tool, which helps staff better collaborate, engages and involves
    staff, promoting your culture and company values along the way. It also gives your employees the
    tools they need to perform their jobs efficiently.
    • Personalize Your Navigation:
    Include global navigation (i.e. available on all pages) on your intranet, and use Mega Menus.
    • Create Useful Financial Sites:
    It's important that your intranet have useful and helpful resources all staff can use, including
    even part time, front-line staff. 
    • Help Employees Connect & Collaborate:
    Many banks have multiple branches across several different geographic locations, which can
    make communication and collaboration among staff a challenge. 
    • Coordinate Special Projects:
    Many banks are often working on several projects at once. Project Sites facilitate
    communication and collaboration by providing a central area on your intranet where employees
    involved in the project can work together digitally.

    REDWOOD CAPITAL BANK
    This California-based bank with multiple locations went from no intranet and paper-based
    forms, to centralized documents and proper forms with workflows - and resultant time savings.

    • Purpose
    Putting a system in place that would allow the bank to organize and centralize resources,
    streamline manual paper-based processes and improve poor communication with a single
    platform that all employees could easily use.
    • Solution
    From centralizing documents to automating workflows, Redwood Capital Bank was able
    to streamline slow, manual paper-based processes to improve efficiency and organization.

    CONCLUSION
    • Employees Stay Informed with Improved Communications
    Redwood Capital Bank’s intranet, named Bank Net, also improved staff communication.
    Important company information was shared on the intranet Home Page using the
    Company News and Blogging applications, so staff knew to login to the intranet daily to
    stay informed. This significantly reduced the amount of emails sent within the bank, and
    ensured all staff were on the same page.
