Listening (30 minutes)
Listening – Form filling and Short answer
questions
In this listening task type, candidates are required to write short answers using
information from what they just heard. A word limit is sometimes given, for example,
“NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS AND/OR NUMBERS”. Candidates will not get a
point if they exceed the stated maximum number of words.
Short-answer questions focus on specific information. You should always accurately
work out what the topic of each topic is in order to give correct answers.

TEAMWORK
Meerkats are excellent examples of how important teamwork is. Different meerkats take

Task 2 in the IELTS exam asks a question about a social topic such
as the environment, education or the media.
You must answer this question by giving your opinions, along with
reasons and examples, in an essay.
You must write at least 250 words and you should spend about 40
minutes writing the essay.

Task 2 questions are often a sentence followed by one of the following
questions:
How far do you agree with this statement? OR To what extent do you
agree with this statement?
These questions mean: How much do you agree with the sentence?
