    in plotting the tournament?
    Single Elimination

    Formula for identifying the number of games: N-1

    Where N stands for number of Teams


    Ex: We have 4 teams,
    identify the no. of games using N-1

    no of games = N-1
    =4-1
    =3
    no. of games is 3
    For a better representation, let us plot the
    matches.

    D
    In the plot, A is matched with B where they are
    placed as Game 1 or Match 1.
    C, on the other hand is matched with D being
    Match 2 or Game 2.

    Since we are using the Single Elimination format,

    A the loser in each match will automatically be


    removed.
    B The winners for Match 1 and 2 will proceed to the
    C Championship Round where they are placed as
    Game 3 or Match 3.
