Boxton ran and ran as fast as he could as Vlad hung on tight to his ears. They didn’t want to
get burned or squashed under the feet of so many people. The fire was now blazing fiercely
and Vlad encouraged Boxton to keep running as he was starting to tire. They reached the
River Thames and suddenly there was an enormous explosion! Buildings began to collapse all
around them. The wind was fanning the inferno
making the sky dark with smoke and ash.

Boxton staggered on until he came to a garden.


There in the middle of the grass, knelt a man in a
long coat and wig. He was putting a bundle into a
hole that he had dug in the ground. He checked no
one was looking and quickly hurried away. As Boxton
got closer to where the bundle had been, he couldn’t
believe his luck - there were some crumbs of cheese
on the ground. Mmmmmmmmmm…
