INTRODUCTION
• Glues are essential for attaching objects,
creating a solid connection and increasing
their toughness. They can hold various
materials together, with organic and
synthetic adhesives being more common.
• This study will guide future researchers
and encourage resourcefulness, as it
highlights the importance of using natural
adhesives instead of commercial products.
BACKGROUND OF THE
STUDY
• Glue is a sticky material that can stick two or
more things together. Glue can be made from
plant or animal parts, or it can be made from oil-
based chemicals.
• This research aims to evaluate a natural adhesive
product made from glutinous rice, skim milk,
and vinegar, assessing its bonding strength,
durability, versatility, and suitability for specific
applications.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
This study seeks answer to the following questions:
1. How well is the glue made from glutinous rice, skim
milk, and vinegar in comparison to commercial glue in
terms of stickiness, the ease of drying, cost, and essence?
2. How effective are the ingredients such as glutinous rice,
skim milk, and vinegar in order to come up an alternative
adhesive?
3. Is there a significant difference between alternative
adhesive and commercial glue in terms of stickiness, ease
of drying, cost, and essence?
Objectives of the study:
●To test the effectiveness of glutinous rice, skim
milk, and vinegar as an alternative adhesive.
●To identify the potential of ingredients such as
glutinous rice, skim milk, and vinegar in order to
come up an alternative adhesive.
●To compare commercial products from our
study in terms of stickiness, the ease of drying,
cost, and essence.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The findings of the study will be useful in determining
the effectiveness of glutinous rice, skim milk, and
vinegar as an alternative adhesive. This study may be
significant to the following:

SCOPE AND
LIMITATIONS
The study focuses on finding out the effectiveness of
glutinous rice, skim-milk, and vinegar as an alternative
adhesive.
The research will be conducted at Claret College of
Isabela. Senior High School Students from Claret
College of Isabela S.Y. 2023-2024 will be randomly
selected to represent the population. The trial-and-error
process will take 5 to 8 weeks, started in October.
Data will be collected through survey questionnaires,
using a "Post-test Only Controlled Group Design" under
True Experimental Research Design.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
OVERVIEW
This chapter reviews literature on alternative
glues, including gumamela, jackfruit sap, milk,
and rice. Gumamela pods contain mucilage,
which can be used as a glue. Jackfruit sap
contains bacteriolytic value, while milk has been
found to be effective. Rice, an acid-free, and
humidity-resistant alternative, is easy to make
and inexpensive. These studies highlight the
potential of gumamela, jackfruit, milk, and rice in
creating glues.

RESEARCH METHOD AND DESIGN
This study will utilize a quantitative research method
and a true experimental design with a post-test only
controlled group design.
This design allows for rigorous comparison between a

controlled group and an experimental group, enabling
the isolation of the glue's impact on adherence. The
quantitative method employs numerical data,
facilitating statistical analysis to draw objective
conclusions about its effectiveness in comparison to
traditional adhesives.
POPULATION AND SAMPLE
The researchers looked out for the official
population list of senior high school students in
Claret College of Isabela for the academic year
2023–2024, using Slovin's Formula to
determine the sample size. With 725 students
enrolled, they obtained 88 respondents with a
10% margin of error and 85% confidence level.

SAMPLING DESIGN AND
PROCEDURE
The researchers utilized a stratified random sampling in this
study since the participants were randomly selected.
Researchers can guarantee a more thorough and

representative assessment by using stratified sampling
design, which provides for broad insights into how different
populations react to the product. Researchers use stratified
sampling design to identify key characteristics influencing
product perception. Random sampling is used to select
participants, and data is collected through surveys.
Analyzing data separately for each stratum provides
insights into subgroup responses, allowing for a
comprehensive understanding.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS
In this study, survey questionnaires, experiment,
and psychometric scale will be utilized for
research instruments.
Surveys provide quantitative data for statistical

analysis, identifying patterns and trends.
Experiments control testing of variables, while
psychometric scales measure respondents'
perceptions of products, revealing emotional
impact on users.
VALIDATION
In the course of this study, Content Validity will be
employed.
Our validation strategy embodies an iterative refinement

process. Through expert reviews and pilot testing, we
meticulously honed survey questions and experimental
variables. Seamlessly integrating insights from psychology
and user experience research into the development of a
psychometric scale, our strategy aligns diverse perspectives
to measure respondents' perceptions with profound depth
and precision.
Incorporating content validity strengthens our
study's foundation, enhancing credibility to
ensure instruments capture adhesive
performance intricacies.
DATA GATHERING
PROCEDURE
The researcher defines research objectives and
formulates a research question. The researchers find 88
out of 724 Senior High School Students enrolled in
Claret College of Isabela academic Year 2023-2024.
After determining the total number of respondents, the
researchers will gather the respondents in one place
and distribute the product to the participants, and use a
survey questionnaire to compare to a commercial
product. The data is collected using a close-ended
questionnaire and analyzed using statistical methods.
DATA PROCESSING AND
STATISTICAL TREATMENT
This study will utilize T-test tool (Independent
Sample T-Test) in analysing the data.
The effectiveness of using this method is to

compare two groups, which is essential for
evaluating the adhesive capabilities of our
alternative adhesive against a commercial
product.
