Goals of this course
• At the end of this course the student
– is capable of applying methods and techniques to model
data requirements within a specific business context (data
modeling)
– knows how to model data requirements using ER, EER,
relational and UML models
– is capable of developing software solutions to query data
models in an efficient way
– knows how to design and evaluate database systems in a
networked environment
Prerequisites
• Basic knowledge of Business Information Systems
• Basic programming skills handy, but not strictly
required!
