DAY AND NIGHT
What You Need to Know?
Daytime is when you see the sun from where you are and
its light and heat can reach you. Nighttime is when the sun
is on the other side of the earth from you. And its light and
heat can’t reach you. We get day and night because the
earth spins on an imaginary line called its axis and
different parts of the planet is facing the sun or away from
it:

periods of the revolution of the Earth
What You Need to Know?
As the Earth rotates on its axis, the Earth also travels around
the sun in a path called orbit. The motion around the sun which
called a revolution. The amount it takes for a single trip around the
sun is a period of revolution. The period for the Earth to revolve
around the sun is 365 1/4 days. This period defines as a year.
The calendar we presently use, the Gregorian Calendar only
uses 365 days. So to compensate for the excess time to keep the
calendar in a syn with a revolution of the Earth, a leap year is used
every four years. A leap years adds one day to the end of February.
