    INTRODUCTION
    Project method is one of the modern
    method of teaching in which, the students
    point of view is given importance in
    designing the curriculum and content of
    studies. This method is based on the
    philosophy of Pragmatism and the
    principle of ‘Learning by doing’.
    DEFINITION
    • According to W.H. Kilpatrick,

    “A project is a wholehearted
    purposeful activity proceeding in a
    social environment

    • It is focused on the student as it enlists his/her active involvement in the


    task set.

    • It promotes a better knowledge of the practical aspects of


    knowledge gained from books.
    PRINCIPLES
    A.Principle of Purpose: Why doing certain things?

    B.Principle of Freedom: choose as per their interest, need and capacity.


    C.Principle of Experiences: real experience has long lasting
    impression.
    D.Principle of reality: Should be near to life reality.

    E.Principle of Utility: Project should be useful for individual and


    society..
