AIM
• To design and implement a flood monitoring and warning
system using the NRF24L01 wireless module, capable of
providing real-time data on water levels and weather conditions,
enabling early flood warnings and disaster management.
MOTIVATION
• Floods continue to cause significant loss of life, property, and
environmental damage.

• Current flood detection systems are often limited by

infrastructure or fail to provide early enough warnings.

• Wireless, real-time monitoring solutions with predictive

capabilities can reduce risks and enhance preparedness.
ABSTRACT
• This project is about creating a *flood monitoring and early
warning system* that can track water levels and weather
conditions to help prevent flood damage.

• The system uses *sensors* to measure *water levels, rainfall,

temperature, humidity, air pressure, and **wind conditions*.

• The data from the sensors is sent wirelessly to a *central

system* using *NRF24L01* modules, which help keep track
of rising water and bad weather.
• If the system detects a flood risk, it triggers *alarms* and
sends alerts via *text messages, emails, and a mobile app* to
warn people in advance.

• The system is *solar-powered* for use in remote areas, has

*GSM/Wi-Fi* for remote access, and uses *machine learning*
to improve its flood predictions over time
INTRODUCTION
• Floods are one of the most destructive natural disasters,
causing loss of life, damage to property, and disruption to
communities.

• Early detection of rising water levels and weather changes can

help save lives and reduce damage by giving people and
authorities time to prepare.

• Existing flood detection systems often rely on manual

monitoring or wired communication, which can be slow,
expensive, and not always reliable.
• Wireless communication, like the *NRF24L01 module*,
allows for real-time data collection and transmission, making
it easier to monitor flood conditions in remote areas.

• This project aims to create a cost-effective, real-time flood

monitoring system that can send early warnings using sensors
and wireless technology to improve flood preparedness.
EXISTING METHOD / LITERATURE
SURVEY

• Many places still check water levels by hand or with

simple sensors, which can be slow and lead to late
warnings.

• Most systems use wired connections, which are expensive

and hard to set up in large or faraway areas.

• Current systems don’t use weather information or

advanced tools to predict floods in advance, making them
less reliable.
DRAWBACKS OF EXISTING
METHOD

• Manual monitoring or basic systems cause delays in detecting

and responding to flood threats.

• Wired communication systems are expensive to install and

maintain, especially in remote or large areas.

• Many existing systems only monitor specific areas and cannot

easily expand to cover larger regions.

• Most models don't use advanced technologies like machine learning

to predict floods based on historical data, limiting their ability to give
early warnings.
PROPOSED METHOD
• Real-time Monitoring: Uses water level sensors and weather
stations equipped with temperature, humidity, and pressure
sensors.
• Wireless Communication: NRF24L01 modules enable
efficient data transmission to a central control unit.
• Alert System: Alerts are generated when water levels exceed
thresholds, and notifications are sent via SMS, email, and
mobile apps.
• Power Supply: Solar panels ensure continuous operation in
remote areas.
