What is social sciences?
• Social Sciences is the branch of science that is devoted in the study of
societies and the relationships among individuals within those societies.
• Social Sciences consists of a variety of disciplines, subject areas, and

methods and there is no reason to expect that these disciplines will
eventually add up to a single unified theory of society.
• There are Nine (9) Social Science discipline namely; Anthropology,

Demography, Economics, History, Linguistics, Political Science,
Psychology, and Sociology

Anthropology, being the study of the man and its society in the past and
present, has also helped in resolving social issues such as:
a) Colonialism and Postcolonialism

b) Globalization and Cultural
Change c)Indigenous Rights
and Representation
This discipline of Social Sciences had helped nor resolved these social
concerns that has been stated above. Although it didn’t resolved the
whole thing and put
an end to these problems, it helped on loosing some of the problems, mainly
stereotypes of the stated problems that has a connection to the said social

work.

because it is still continuing to foster, making it hard for our country
to rise up.
