The paperback is now live! I repeat, the paperback is now live!

You can now get a physical copy of Warding Song direct from Amazon via the link above: it would mean the world if you did!

Calling all dragon book lovers! (That follow me lmao)

I’m so excited the book is actually published!

The thing with Jayvik is that both of them think the other is too good for them. Viktor looks at Jayce and sees the Golden Boy, the Man of Progress, the most eligible bachelor in Piltover, the handsomest man to ever handsome, with a brilliant brain and a heart of gold to match.

Jayce looks at Viktor and sees a genius, his saviour, the one person who believed in him when no one else did. The epitome of Good Intentions even if life had tried to make sure he'd become bitter and fiendish.

They are both each other's adopted stray while thinking the other is way out of their league of legends

One of my favourite things is how mysterious they keep Viktor at the start of Arcane to Jayce, we get the first scene in Jayce's apartment where he deliberately doesn't give his name, the court scene where there's a deliberate shadow drawn over him and finally the next scene in Jayce's apartment, where he talks him down from the ledge and says he believes in him and his research all before finally revealing his name.

The whole hilarity about this is the reason it's written this way is to have Viktor's identity be a big reveal to League players as him being the Machine Herald but without that in universe it comes across as a huge romantic trope to me for someone suddenly coming into your life, sweeping you off your feet before you've even been properly introduced (Jayce's "I don't even know your name" quote has such unintentional Cinderella nods to me)

@joyful-soul-collector wanna hear my sad and/or funny headcanons about Viktor based on his accent? (YMMV on how sad/funny they are lmao)

pfft haha yeah man, my ask box is open if you wanted to ramble there???

lmao I forgot the ask box was a thing 😅

okay here goes:

Sad Headcanon 🥺

Children typically pick up the accents of their peers, rather than their parents. But we’re shown that Viktor didn’t have peers growing up, so he probably picked up his accent exclusively from his parents. (Tbf, for all we know there’s a whole neighbourhood of people in the Undercity with that accent, but I think the idea that Viktor’s family were unique in having it ties in more to his theme of isolation.)

Daft Headcanon 😜

Viktor and his parents having a different accent to most people in Piltover/the Undercity implies they were from somewhere else, but where? Harry Lloyd has said he uses a ‘bad Czech accent’ for Viktor so let’s use that as a baseline. Is there anywhere in Runeterra that could be headcanoned as the equivalent of the Czech Republic?

Well turns out, there’s a minor country in League lore (at least, it’s on the wiki lol) called Rijenland; and rijen, or rather říjen (pronounced ree-en) is actually the Czech word for ‘October’. Neat, huh?

Except, the word říjen comes from říje, which means ‘rut’. On account of what deer are doing that time of year. So, uh… what I’m saying is, I like to think Viktor’s family were immigrants from Rijenland, aka ‘Octoberland’… aka ‘Rutting Season Land’ 😅😅😅.

i always see people look at jayvik and go “omg he’s so hot you know all his classmates had crushes on him” LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER! WRONG!

literally everyone at the academy didn’t wanna talk to jayce because he constantly had that energy of “autistic guy who REALLY wants to tell you about his special interest” but because his special interest was illegal he would just never mention it and instead stand in the corner at parties and if you tried to talk to him he wouldn’t respond properly because he’s busy thinking of hextech, but again, illegal, so he just wouldn’t pay attention to you and if you asked why he would stare blankly at you and say “huh? oh sorry continue”

viktor is even WORSE at parties but his lack of bitches was more due to classism and not personality defects. despite that, when jayce and viktor got together everyone at the academy breathed a collective sigh of relief that their two least eligible bachelors were finally taken OFF the market for good, and only at the price of like 2 explosions

I knew it, I FUCKING KNEW IT!

Everyone kept saying I was being too negative, that I should have more faith, that the animators who quit couldn't be sure of how far the movie was along- but I saw the signs and I fucking knew it.

Oh, just for anyone who doesn't want to read the article or something, the date of release is June 4 of 2027.

For record, I am not upset, it is probably because I am sleep-deprived and I feel too vindicated to be upset right now, and because again, I was expecting this would be the case.

My conspiracy theory is that I am convinced the second movie didn't come out finished, so I imagined this wouldn't come out soon; SPECIALLY because of Miller's 'creative process'. Many people would say that is due to the writers strike, which is bullshit; many other projects interrupted by that didn't get this big of a delay, the movie was never going to come out in 2024.

Also I know no one cares about this, but I am in Portugal right now (I will be back in Canada soon anyway) and the announcement from what I had seen in the news was like, 3 hours ago. For no apparent reason, I woke up 2 hours ago and couldn't go back to sleep.

Is like my hyperfixation just knew we had news and was like 'wake up bitch your favourite movie finally has a release date for the next one.'

If I was desperate for kudos I would not be out here posting villain ships, minor character rarepairs, and other deeply unpopular ships.

I know how to write popular fic. I know how to farm kudos. That's not what I'm here for.

"Readers need to remember that authors don't know a reader liked their fic unless the reader tells them by leaving a kudos or a comment" does not mean "waahhh waahhh I need attention!"

It means "even if writers write purely for themselves, if you don't bother to interact with writers when you do enjoy their work, they might stop posting and just keep their work to themselves."

"If you enjoy a work you should kudos or comment" is not aimed at the people who aren't reading the fanfiction in question.

"If you enjoy a work you should kudos or comment" is not aimed at the people who did not enjoy the fanfiction in question.

"If you enjoy a work you should kudos or comment" is aimed at people who read a fanfiction, enjoyed it, and then didn't bother to even do the bare minimum to share their excitement about it with the work's creator, even though that excitement is literally the only thing they get in return for posting their work.

Fanfiction authors write because they enjoy writing. They post because they want to form a connection with the people who enjoyed their work.

This is not an attempt to scold anyone, I literally don't care if I get kudos or not. It's simply an attempt to remind people that fanfiction is a community, and fan authors can't read your mind.
