my response to the straight mike allegations
bro what if we had established colours assigned to us within the lore of the show… what if our bedrooms matched these colours and we mostly wore outfits featuring these colours… bro what if we had a fight at a roller rink and we were wearing each others colours to signify that we were thinking about each other and all the lights around us were those colours… bro what if i reached for you and the light behind you was yellow and you were wearing yellow while i was wearing blue and we vowed to defeat evil together no matter what…. bro just imagine
Day 3 of Question of the day :)
how long have you been a byler shipper?
2023!! :D but I lurked since 2022 :33
I’ve been in the fandom since 2022 post vol2 but I knew (and kinda shipped) byler every since 2020
after season 2 came out i casually shipped both byler (byeler? anyone remember) and mileven. (2025 st fans could never). been solidly in the fandom since 2022 when st4 was released
Been here since late 2020 or early 2021?( I canf remember) and I've been a byler since the moment I saw them methinks
in tfs when patty and henry have their first kiss, a lightbulb explodes (and i'm pretty sure in the broadway version i saw more than one explode actually)
let's look at mike and el's first kiss now.
first of all, there's a light fixture in frame this whole conversation leading up to the kiss
gee, looks like the lightbulb behind el is still very much intact guys!
Hey so like… am I only the one who thought it reminded them exactly of this scene orrr
“Idk… when I kissed you… it felt like I was kissing my brother”—Loraine
“Will you be like my brother”— El
Lucas Sinclair appreciation post because Pookie is CRIMINALLY. Underrated. I hate the way black characters are ignored and disregarded is some fandoms and he is genuinely such a cool character.
It actually makes me so angry how much Lucas/Caleb is ignored in the fandom. He is so much more than just Max’s goofy boyfriend he is his own character and we need to talk about him more often. I love him sm.
2.09 | 3.08
what the hell, sure....
okay. what the fuck are they talking about. i'm dead serious. what the fuck are they even talking about.
joyce... won't... accept him? joyce... joyce byers? i repeat. joyce byers? JOYCE BYERS???
THIS JOYCE BYERS?
ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SCENES? ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW BY ANY CHANCE???
okay i have to calm down (i won't)
the first scene is from, like, the first 20 minutes of the whole show. s1, ep1. OK?
and the whole discourse of s2, ep8 is clearly, evidently, HEAVINLY QUEERCODED. i didn't take the screens of the whole thing cause i probably need space for others but she also said "i put it in the shop (where i work), telling everyone that 'my son drew this', and you were so embarassed. but i was so proud. so, so proud." okay? OKAY? CLEAR? CRYSTAL CLEAR? and do not get me started with jonathan. i can accept you thinking lucas and dustin wouldn't understand it immediately but JOYCE? JONATHAN?
oh, but i'm not done. so you're saying homophobia doesn't exist in this show. you're saying that all the things we saw during the story weren't homophobia. you're saying troy isn't homophobic. you're saying lonnie isn't homophobic. you're saying that people in hawkins didn't think and believe that will had initally been beaten up or even murdered for homophobia. because they never assumed he was queer when he was literally younger than 12 in the first place while calling him names. you're saying mike didn't project his insecurities on will because "it's not his fault he doesn't like girls". you're saying this.
and just to conclude, during robin's coming out steve and her were drunk. they were totally drunk. the whole point of that sequence is them being drunk and confessing things. the fact that he seems to accept it right away makes sense here. they're completely out. we don't see the long-term consequences of her coming out between s3 and s4, but we can understand how it went. also, the whole point of steve's character, and the moral he has to learn is this one, if you forgot.
now the truth is that ppl nowaydays are so fixated with woke that most of them can't even distinguish a product that wants to talk about queer people from a product that thinks it represents queer people and think it "pleases the audience". and trust me when i say that stranger things is not woke. stranger things was born from the beginning to tell the stories of people who do not conform to society. it always has done it. it was mainly intended for that kind of audience, and the mainstream came later. woke products are others. you really think they're going to walk with pride flags on the streets just after we'll have an actual coming out from will and mike ? do you think will will stop being tormented from a day to another? netflix's policy can be as woke as you want, but woke is a very different thing from stranger things, period. and since i'm quite hysterical today i'll stop arguing or i'll just get more angry. educate yourself before criticizing.or better yet, open your eyes wide while watching a series or reading a book, thank you. you would do a favor to many
Will's s5 arc as per the newer leaks
goddamn it. I was already theorizing that Will's actions are going to be subconsciously manipulated by Vecna, and these statements are very congruent with that idea.
this person also 'debunked' Bychance ( though the way i see bychance, it's not meant to be a long-term or endgame plotline where Will and him are portrayed all lovey-dovey, and this person being vague about 'some aspects' being right also kind of makes me raise by eyebrow. ) so for now, i'll carry on with bychance bc as is, it is what makes sense to me.
however, this aside, i'm not fully on board with trusting leakers whether i like what they're saying or not until i see the show with my own two eyes ( or official things such as teasers, trailers, etc ) because these CAN be inferred ( like i did ) if you have a decent understanding of the show.
in fact, upon a rewatch of S4EP4 i noticed some 'parallels' between Viktor Creel and Will--as in, both of them being The First Survivors of Vecna in their own right.
( adding my own quick drawing here bc i literally thought of this by the mention of 'snappy dialogue' in the leaks )
but let's say both this person and i are correct--then yeah, will is going to be in need of some type of coping mechanism, ( and the chances of it being unhealthy are high, since I REALLY doubt the show will picture him going to therapy and it actually helping him, or doing other stuff like meditation, journaling, etc. not to mention i don't think he'll be drawing this time like i explained in this post )
if he just pushes on putting this amount of weight onto himself without anyone intervening or even knowing how to help ( like the bit about the birds suggests ), he'll drive himself straight into vecna's arms. as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that's what Vecna is expecting. he won't have to move a muscle when it comes to Will, not really.
and i fucking HATE the goddamn implication of vecna needing will for something still bc the mental picture i get is really freaking violent and wish i could delete it from my subconscious. the leaker mentioned something with fire. and it can be fire or whatever it is but i get the feeling it has something to do with causing will extreme pain. ugh.
so a bychance arc ( or whoever, honestly. atp just give my boy SOMETHING to help alleviate the weight he's carrying ) feels fitting to me as some sort of 'training' for his self-worth and whatnot as he faces off against vecna.
its so frustrating knowing i have 0 control over my favorite character's destiny and it is stressing me out so bad i'm going to need therapy myself by the end of this. ugh
but still, im staying strong on my stance about bychance until the Actual Show comes out.
I think a lot of the fandom has the "love transcends severance" thing wrong.
A lot of people are viewing it in a One True Love / Soulmate-style understanding of love, where love to a specific person is just So Strong, So Right, So Destined that it will transcend a lack of memories, but I think the show itself goes more with the view of love and relationships as something you BUILD over time with experiences.
The reason some couples find each other as both Innies and Outies isn't because their love is somehow realer or stronger than Mark and Gemma's, but because the circumstances allowed for them to start building that love again.
Outie Burt witnessed a man who loved him so much he found a way to track him down outside of Lumon and was interested in him because of it. Outie Irving has clearly been lonely his whole life and realized his Innie got to have a romantic relationship and just wants it for himself despite not really knowing Burt that well.
Innie Dylan was introduced to his outie's wife, shown pieces of their life together that he desperately wants to have, and got to meet someone who already loves him (because she doesn't see him as a different person than her husband) and for Gretchen, she's spending time with an earnest, attentive side of her husband that Outie Dylan is too burnt out / depressed / etc. to show her.
But for Helly, Mark, and Gemma, the situation's a lot more complicated.
Mark S doesn't have love for Gemma or Ms. Casey because he doesn't have the memories that built that love, and he never has the time or experiences with Ms. Casey to rebuild it. And in the meantime, he developed a new love with someone else.
It's not that Mark Scout's love for Gemma isn't as strong as Mark S's love for Helly, but that love is built over experiences together and Mark S and Helly have had the opportunity to build that together the same way that Mark Scout and Gemma did.
"Love transcends severance" doesn't mean specific relationships, but the ABILITY to love transcends severance. The desire for love and relationship transcends the procedure.
And that's clear beyond just romance - it's Lorne loving the goats enough to fight Drummond. It's MDR becoming strong enough to fight back because of the trust and loyalty they build with each other. It's Irving loving Helly enough to recognize when it's not her and risking his position to bring her back. It's Huang seeing the Innies as people for the first time after Dylan G keeps showing her kindness. It's the love for Ms. Casey's kindness that keeps MN from attacking Hellyna and Mark.
Love transcends severance because humans are designed to love and be loved, to form bonds and friendships, to care for each other. You can remove someone's memories, but you can't just cut out someone's desire to love and be loved.
what the hell, sure....
im actually giggling rn because they just cant analyse media properly to save their own lives
I swear they'd rather think the idea of monsters and a different dimension existing is more realistic than a gay boy in the 80s and that worries me on how do these ppl go on their daily lives
