safaa first introduced herself to me here on tumblr through a dm asking for help. when we met, she was incredibly new to the platform- so along w/ sharing her story with all of you- i tried my best to connect her with other palestinian-based accounts so she could gain more visibility. thanks to everyone who has kindly supported her since, her fundraiser has been able to steadily grow day by day!
every message i get from her/her family fills me with a mixture of relief and immense worry. obtaining a strong enough signal to even be able to communicate is already hard enough (most need to travel far distances to charge phones, text, etc) + every news story i read online from journalists/other families i keep up with only grow more dire with each passing day.
there is no way any of us can truly comprehend the level of suffering they all experience on a daily basis-- what is known to us (or should be) is that no one should ever have to live through these inhumane conditions.
the photos i've provided above show safaa's life from before. her pride- her joy- precious memories that any mother would cherish. unfortunately, none of them convey her life now.
safaa no longer shares fun, beautiful memories- she documents the harsh/cruel reality she now faces: writing her kids' names on their arms in order to prepare for the worst, walking through unpaved roads dirtied with debris/sewage, her kids needing to help tend to a fire instead of playing as kids should.
my heart breaks for all of them- and i want nothing more than to see her family be able to get a chance to have more beautiful memories. i don't have much- but i'd be grateful to anyone who is willing to match my donation to safaa's gfm (โฌ5- proof of donation below)

I never imagined that I would reach this stage. Since the first day of the war, I have fought with all my might to preserve my life, the life of my family, and the life of those I love. I have witnessed unimaginable pain, and yet I continue on the path in the hope of keeping my family and loved ones alive life
But today, I find myself in a place of great vulnerability. My family has been devastated by this war. We've lost our home and have been displaced over and over again, each time breaking a piece of us.

I am writing to you today in increasingly difficult circumstances. We have been displaced from one place to another for the seventh time, and there is no safe place left for us to go. Today, the tents we were staying in were attacked by land and air in the Nuseirat area, resulting in the martyrdom of 210 people.
The situation here lacks the most basic necessities of life. There is no water, no food, and no electricity. Every day the situation worsens, and we suffer from a severe shortage of essential needs. My grandfather needs medical treatment, but unfortunately, no medical services are available.
We are in dire need of your support and solidarity during these difficult times. Any help, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives.

This is my friend Ezzideen and his family, who are currently stranded in northern Gaza.
At the onset of the conflict, they tragically lost 72 family members, and now they are facing the dire threat of starvation.
The best course of action for their safety is evacuation to Egypt.To evacuate his mother, we require an additional $1,500, and for his young sibling Mazen, $2,500 is needed.With every $5,000 we raise, we can evacuate a family member and significantly change their life.
