Mark your calendars!

Our Next Witches' Brew is April 5th!

Register for our FREE virtual event with this link.

Our upcoming April Witches' Brew will be aimed at sharing how the written word can be a powerful way for witches and related friends to raise their voices - be it through editorials, fiction, non-fiction narratives, and more.

Are you newer to CTWC? What is a Witches' Brew, you may ask? Our Witches' Brews are small coming together of witches events throughout the year, focused on a particular topic to open up conversations and invite learning. These are short events compared to our full Con - about three hours on one day.

We'll open with our traditional potions, with a poetic and narrative tilt, from our Gnome & Cauldron host - Jul Bloomfield. Jul may have something extra special to share with our Brew-mates, about potions past and future! So be sure to tune in. [about 15 minutes]

Next up on our Brew agenda, an independent book seller will lead a panel on demystifying the publishing process with authors who have experience with traditional publishing, self publishing, and freelance writing work.

Join Alex Wrekk (book seller at The Spiral House and zinester, @upthewitchypunx), Lane Smith  (traditional publication and author of 78 Acts of Liberation: Tarot to Transform Our World), Lee Cotman (freelance and self publication), and Trae Dorn  (independently published author of The Mia Graves Saga, host of BS Free Witchcraft podcast, @traegorn) [about 45 minutes]

We'll break to chat together about what we've heard and what we think (you won't be left on your own for this!). It is traditional, and a wonderful way to meet other witches and friends of witches. [about 20 minutes]

I know you legit just made a post kind of about this but if there’s one thing to help comfort me through all of this it’s the fact that the Yemen attack plans being leaked so easily kind of reinforces that while these people can and will do harm to millions of other people, they are also likely very incompetent. Like I understand the fact that everyone makes mistakes, even the president, but it just baffles me that those plans somehow got leaked *that* easily.

Yup, they are pretty incompetent. That's what happens when you're working on a sense of innate superiority - you overestimate yourself and you mess up.

Regardless of how bad things get, one thing everyone needs to remember is that fascists are deeply incompetent and that the very things that draw people to fascism are biases, personal grudges, insecurities and weaknesses, and similar issues that are the antithesis of competence, emotional intelligence, and basic reasoning and thinking faculties. While I won't resort to the language some people use since it's ableist and could have splash damage against people with actual mental health issues and intellectual/learning disabilities, I will point out that people who choose the evils of fascism, racism, and similar do not do so out of being the brightest bulbs in the chandelier so to speak. They do so because they're bad people who have a driving need to feel superior to others, without any reason to be convinced of their ostensible superiority except that they made more money or stomped on enough people to get to be where they are. If you have even a single bit of compassion or empathy/sympathy, if you can use complex reasoning at a level above that of the average human toddler or two year old dog, if you have any sort of respect for others and humility to listen to advice? You are already three steps ahead of the average fascist. Use that to your advantage and that of others who need to be protected from them.

when i go in a room and forget what i needed i become a point and click protagonist. [water bottle?] that’s not helpful right now. [socks?] i don’t know what to do with that. [charger?] that’s not helpful right now. [scissors?] i can’t do anything with that. [water bottle?] that’s not helpful right now. [lone paperclip?] that’s not helpful right now. [water bottle?]

In Prince's funky name, amen.

Millennial here. All the above and:

Please send me the training or tutorial in a written format with maybe some screenshots if necessary. I don't want a video tutorial. I don't want to waste time trying to scroll to the exact moment in the instructions that I need and then have to pause and replay it because I missed the .01 seconds of actually relevant information.

Please. Text. Maybe some images for clarification. I can read. I promise.

Yes!!! Videos are such a waste of time and data.

Gen X here and I'm just going to drop this link here that might upsettingly explain why younger generations prefer images and videos over text. it makes me really angry and I hope future generation can become readers again.

Next time you're around when the mail gets delivered, ask your delivery person if they're understaffed or not.

But don't hold them up too much, they have a lot of work to do.

Y'all NEED to let your conservative family members know about this because the USPS is a LARGE employer of military veterans and has AMAZING benefits.

They employ over 100,000 veterans. Your conservative uncle needs to know those jobs are threatened.

The relevance of “should they” can be debated

The truth of “they don’t” cannot be in good faith

So I ask you — why does it need to be cut? To whom does that benefit? Do you agree with them benefiting?

For those of you that are wondering, please have one of the fiest pieces of radio comedy ever:
