Hello!
-- or a quick introduction

β™‘ My name is Rufy and this is my blog where I obsess over a thousand little fictional persons each week!

β™‘ Feel free to use any pronouns for me! I'm mostly used to she/they but I have no qualms about any other ones!

β™‘ If you're coming here form Ao3, welcome and thank you for that :) If you aren't and it seems like we have a similar taste in fictional characters, I have quite a few works out on Ao3! Feel free to peruse my humble gallery :)

β™‘ I speak czech and english, but I sometimes get a bit anxious about speaking! or any other kind of human interaction for that matter. Please have a bit of patience with me <3

β™‘ I am a cat person! And considering that I'm also queer/aroace, it'd be a bit weird if I wasn't a dragon person, too! :)

β™‘ my favorite characters include Wylan Van Eck (Six of Crows), Asriel, Flowey, Papyrus (UNDERTALE), Rose Quartz, Steven Universe, Hunter Blight Clawthorne Deamone Noceda Porter Whispers Wittebane (or maybe just Wittebane, if we're going strictly by canon ;), from The Owl house), Basil and Mari (from OMORI), Elliott (SDV) and Cole and Vania (Ninjago)!

That's all I can think of right now. Please be kind to others and yourself on my blog and have a lovely day!

I'm a fandom oldie and a strong proponent of "ship and let ship", and I defend everyone else's right to ship what they love... But I think that gives people the idea that I like, automatically love every single ship??? Or every single trope?

I don't though!

There are a lot of fandom tropes that are on my "absolutely fuck no" list. There are a lot of irk kinks that are also on my "nope absolutely not" list, too. Personally, this is healthy. I'm able to look at something and go "Yep, I hate it, but it's not harming anyone, so continue to do as you please."

I think this is where the rubber meets the road for actually having principles. It’s easy to defend the things we like, just like it’s easy to fight for our own rights and those of people just like us. When you have to use logic to extend your sense of justice to people you can’t relate to, that actually takes effort.

Everyone wants to talk about how Senshi is a tumblr sexyman but...Senshi is actually attractive. Like even aside from the fact that he's pretty good-looking he's a nice, sweet guy and he can cook and loves doing it. He's a perfectly eligible candidate for marriage, which kind of goes against the spirit of a tumblr sexyman.

Chilchuck, however? Chilchuck is a tumblr sexyman. What the fuck do you people see in him

Unironically, vegans need to be advocating for more and better sheep, llama, and alpaca farms. Wool is one of the best fabrics we have in terms of versatility, longevity and most importantly, insulation. Even wet, it retains 80% of it’s insulation potential.

AND IT DOESN’T SHED MICROPLASTICS

Like, there’s literally nothing you can do to a sheep that’s as morally reprehensible as dumping plastic down the gullet of literally every other living thing. You wanna talk about animal welfare? Talk about reducing the amount of microplastics produced by rayon, polyester, and spandex.

Bruh plant-based sources of clothing exist and are better for the environment and don’t involve slicing an animal’s throat open please shut the fuck up you cunt

THE WOOL GROWS BACK

Do they think you kill a sheep for it’s wool

A LOT OF THEM DO THINK THIS. They get told this carp by PETA and the like.

People- wool animals are not killed for their wool/hair. Yaks, angora rabbits, angora goats, sheep, alpacas, llamas etc… We SHEAR THEM. Not Flay. Shear. With clippers.

Or some people just gather what falls off the critter, or in the case of β€œchien” which is dog fluff, you brush that off them.

Healthy happy animals make good fiber. It is monetarily foolish and useless to abuse your animals because then their fiber is bad. You can debate points of husbandry and some parts of industries need change so fight about that.

But wool is amazing.

anytime ive tried to confront anyone about AI usage they asked me "what's wrong with a bit of fun? not like im hurting anyone"

YES YOU ARE !!!

youre not only disrespecting REAL artists who spend HOURS on making that art but also disrespecting mother nature . how?

according to recent studies , ai will soon be using as much water as new zealand.

do u see how serious and bad this is?

while i hate the corporate use of genAI as much as the next guy this information is heavily misleading. all major servers, that includes tumblr.com the website you are using right now, use approximately the same hardware as AI farms. same cooling same metals same everything. that means if you want to get mad at the environmental impact, you're off target and you should be mad at current practices for developing technology (also side note: the water isn't annihilated off the face of the earth. it evaporates and then is 9 times out of 10 re-condensed in the same building to save money)

if you want to be mad at AI, then you need to find the stuff that actually makes AI bad (threatens jobs/the economy, lowers general quality of corporate releases, legal nightmares, etc etc)

if you try attack the wrong target with the wrong reasons, then any argument you try raise will be immediately debunked anywhere where it actually matters (if you want to pass legislation to put restrictions on AI, how long do you think that the above argument would hold up before an actual expert testified?)

Happy 9th Anniversary, Undertale.

Without this game, I wouldn’t even be half the person I’ve become today. It sounds dramatic but it’s true. I never would’ve met or befriended half the people I know if it weren’t for this game. Even so, not all friendships last forever. Some fell apart, others simply drifted away.

Funny that one game was able to open me up to so many possibilities. For love, for loss, and mostly of all, for hope.

Hope that despite everything, it’ll be okay. Because in spite of loss, love is absolute.

So, here’s to making 999 more friends.

You ever think about how Undertale uses Flowey to break the 4th wall, without actually breaking the 4th wall? The game merely imitates the vocabulary of 4th wall breaks...

...through the words of a grieving boy who just wants his best friend back

That's why the fallen human is essentially our "role" in the story. That's why Flowey is set up as a player parallel. From beginning to end, this was always a story about Asriel and Chara. In Undertale's story, the role of "player" is, metanarratively, the role of a ghost.

That's why the plot is so heavily character driven. That's why progress is marked by helping people move on from the past. That's why the game ends (and can only truly end) by asking us to let go.

It's a ghost story. It's all a fucking ghost story.
