I’m too tired to write out my full thoughts on this line, but fuck it’s so double-edged. Arthur hears it how he wants to, hears that his father does truly love him. But after his conversation with Nimueh earlier, I can’t help but hear it to mean that he wouldn’t ever make that bargain again, that he could go back in time, he would never have begged Nimueh for a child.
