everything's still romantic, right?

He does his best to unclench his jaw and uncramp his hands in the pockets of his blue hoodie, but there's a vibe which Samwell gives off that is already putting him in high-alert mode. Samwell U is one of the smaller ones in Massachusetts: It's the perfect balancing act of being too big to be quiet and too small for him to not have eyes on him everywhere he goes. Jack hates it already.

I will literally joke about how I'm a hater then remember people literally have whole blogs dedicated to hating people and media and actually maybe I'm a lover who happens to occasionally dabble on criticising the things i don't like.

i think lemon demon fans should start romanticizing massachusetts like weebs with japan

MA boys are so cute!! [pictures of neil cicierega and jerma] i need to try lobster omg… maybe i’ll go to massachusetts to teach the inhabitants english <3

i want to study at a Massachusetts university. i will spell chowder as chowdah and not use my turn signal. i would watch Cheers on WHDH-TV all night while drinking a dunky donuts with my broes. i’ll have fenway franks every day that’s worth abouta buck fifty. i would go to Sox bars every night. i am also more likely to meet massholes, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Brady and Bill de Blasio. i wish i was Massachusettsian :(

Literally this

This feels especially relevant in light of a girl and her family being killed at the hands of a Tate fanatic… it feels like the biggest gen z learning curve (especially gen z men) is driving home the fact that misogyny does actually exist and is not a myth or an excuse or a cheesy thing women harp on

Feels so necessary to add that so many gen z men are bitter w women for having it “easy”…. And it’s like??? In what way??? And their example is always that they have to approach in relationships or have to be “providers” or women get more compliments. Even if we assume all that is true (and like… it’s def not on most of these counts, bc it’s not as if men ubiquitously provide for women in the modern world), it shows such a gross lack of understanding for the inequalities women face in practically Everything else… like get serious…

i see "men bad" jokes as very similar to suicide jokes. like making them every once in a while isn't the worst thing, but if you Keep making them constantly. it DOES shape how you start thinking and you WILL become a more unpleasant and bitter person and also make people around you uncomfortable. and sometimes you just gotta choose to not make or engage with certain jokes, even if they are amusing to you, because its just not who you wanna be

"gay or european" also goes for middle-aged women btw. that lady with short hair no makeup and sneakers isn't a lesbian she's just german

when I see stuff like this i think more about how "anti-robot/android" sentiment in sci-fi stories does not work as some kind of racism allegory. instead I can fully understand why someone can hold a deep resentment and frustration against a group of inhuman workers designed for perfect efficiency and serving the billionaire class without pay. in the right political climate, hating robots is not based in bigotry or hatred of a kind of "person" but rather a love for humanity, and a desire for the ruling class to treat humans as humans, instead of building non-humans to replace them

Jack nods, grimacing. He'd lie if he said that it didn't feel a little gratifying, especially when he enters the locker room and J-Mills glares daggers at him. And though he didn't get to first line through sheer skill, this is his chance to show Dave that he deserves to be there and out-perform a douchebag like Jared Miller. All in all, he's in good spirits.

its so fun to make a character whose moral compass is not actually based on their own personal ideals but is a poor imitation of a more grounded person they care about. if a beautiful woman disagrees with me i will immediately change my views. idgaf about this problem but my best friend WILL get mad at me if i don't help solve it

i genuinely think boats are such good places to set a story because it automatically gives you a set of really interesting circumstances -- boats are transitory, you are not meant to stay on them forever, there is an automatic assumption of ending up somewhere different from where you started...characters are forced into close proximity, stakes are higher, etc. boats also just look cool, so that's always a plus

a few reminders because i’m tired and angry

  • fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
  • adult women aren’t inherently creepy for being in fandom and having hobbies apart from raising babies and doing taxes
  • the vast majority of people pushing back against the worrying trend of instigating harassment over fictional characters and relationships aren’t incest supporters or pedophiles, actually
  • liking a m/f ship doesn’t make someone a dirty heterosexual invading your space
  • preferring gay ships doesn’t make you ‘’woke’’ and good
  • no one owes you a disclaimer that they are a good person who recognizes that their favorite fictional villain’s actions are evil and that they don’t condone those actions irl
  • liking a fictional villain is in no way comparable to advocating abuse/murder/genocide/etc and you’re a fucking idiot if you believe that
  • just because a woman is attracted to a fictional villain doesn’t mean she’s promoting toxic relationships or going to end up in a toxic relationship. assuming women can’t tell fiction and reality apart stinks of internalized misogyny
  • some rando’s a/b/o fanfics have none of the level of influence that popular tv shows and movies spreading propaganda have
  • no one owes you a detailed description of their traumas and mental health problems
  • abusive relationships are not the same as enemies to lovers ships
  • y’all need to chill the fuck out over people, relationships, actions and events that don’t actually exist and learn how to enjoy and discuss them like normal people
  • fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism
