9-1-1 posting and hopefully writing a lot of fanfics :) She/her Parent blog: artemis-the-sinister

Competitive ballroom dancer Eddie / cheerleader Shannon (my headcanon) were the MAIN EVENT at prom for sure they tore up that dance floor, a night of just fun and no obligation, no competition to stress over. (And then maybe 2 months later they’re dancing again. But it’s not fun anymore. Not when they’re at their shotgun wedding and Shannon has a baby in her belly and Eddie has basic training in a week.)

okay so we know buck and eddie facetime like all the time. so what if the 118 are having a slow day and buck and eddie are facetiming and hen, chimney, and bobby join in to say hello and they’re all talking and joking and passing the phone around and then maybe it’s time to actually work so hen is like gotta go eddie, bye, love you, passes the phone to chimney, who goes yeah love you eddie, passes the phone to bobby who laughs and is like yeah we love you eddie and eddie laughs and is like love you too guys. then the phone is back with buck and it’s just him and eddie and they’re staring at each other and buck is like uh. gotta go. and eddie is like yeah. and buck is like i…yeah. and eddie is like yeah. yeah, me too. what if.

it’s so funny to me that people are saying that the show killed passenger princess eddie. for me this episode solidified the passenger princess eddie agenda. that man should not be behind the wheel and buck knows it. buck also loves driving him around but that’s unrelated.

Ok just to be clear on the amatonormality front: even if Buck and Eddie aren’t romantically interested in each other and never become a couple, other people they date can still find that their bond doesn’t compare to Buck and Eddie’s. It’s not like Tommy’s insecurity over Eddie’s importance to Buck compared to his own only makes sense if Buck has been in love with Eddie this whole time. Even without romance, anyone can tell that the level of affection and care Buck has for Eddie runs much deeper than his 6 or so month relationship with Tommy. Buck and Eddie have known each other for 7-8 years now, and have been supportive of each other on very fundamental levels the entire time. Buck was there for Eddie when he struggled to find childcare while they were new in LA, helped him through panic attacks and became a co-parent to Chris. Eddie became Buck’s confidant and a safe place for him to go to when overwhelmed by challenges in his life. Of course it would make total sense if they were in love with each other, but their bond does not diminish with the lack of that romance. And it’s only natural for people who feel insecure in their place in their lives to compare their bond and find themself lacking. However true that may be.

Another prompt filled for @911Actions - this time, some amateur sleuthing shenanigans with Bobby & Michael.

This was donated for @screaming-universe

Summary:

Michael and David come to visit Bobby and Athena's new house. Of course, their annoying new neighbors also need investigating, and who better for the job than proven duo Bobby and Michael?

Snippet:

“I can’t barge in there and arrest him for that, Bobby,” Athena says. “There are still probably smoke detectors in the other designated areas, right? The bedrooms, the hallways… This is just the kitchen.”

“Yeah, the kitchen,” Bobby confirms. “Where fires often start.”

Athena sighs. “A shape in a trash bag is not enough for me to make an arrest, for a crime that comes with a fine, and you know it.”

“Fine,” Bobby says. She is technically correct after all. “But I don’t like them, and I think they’re trouble.”

Probably not a fair generalization, given it’s just the husband who has pissed him off.

“Okay,” Athena says, suppressing a smirk. “The record reflects that.”

As always, let me know if you'd like to be added to my writing updates tags :)

"I'm not into men, I'm an ally" - Buck, resident bisexual

"Eddie I don't even care if you move, I don't need you" - Buck, dying inside at the prospect of Eddie moving

"I'm fine" - Buck, whenever he's not fine

"I'm still with Abby" - Buck, months after Abby left

"I'm done with casual fast hookups, I'm gonna take it slow and do it right" - Buck, 2 minutes before his next casual fast hookup

"I feel like she really sees me" - Buck, about a woman who was only interested in him because he died once

"Eddie would never do anything illegal" - Buck, talking about the time Eddie broke the law

"I'm not hopelessly pining for my straight best friend" - Buck, resident reliable narrator, definitely telling the objective truth and not pining at all thank you very much

maybe i'm alone in this but i actually okay. first of all i do think eddie was emotionally cheating on marisol. and he knew it or he wouldn't have been so incredibly shady about it. he was taking her on dates, he was spending tons of time with her, he was intentionally keeping this knowledge from everyone he knows. and unpopular opinion but i prefer that eddie have actually fucked up for this arc (i would prefer if he had fucked up more tbh, like i think it was lame and the writers pulled their punches by not having him have a full on affair/by having kim be totally crazy and pushy instead of him getting there on his own steam) because to me the point isn't like, eddie did nothing wrong and therefore what his parents did is wrong. he did something wrong! he did! sure it's not his fault that kim was at the house right then but she knew where he lived, knew what shannon looked like, etc etc etc because of the emotional affair. which is his fault!

and chris has a right to be mad, and his parents have a right to be concerned, AND it's still shitty for them to spirit chris away when as far as we know chris and eddie never even had one conversation about what happened. good parents might come to town, and let chris stay w them while in town, but they would want to help their son reconcile with his own son. they would want the best for him and be concerned about him, even if he did something objectively uncool. and eddie doesn't have to be blameless for all of that to be true.

Yeah the point definitely isn’t “technically Eddie didn’t cheat on his girlfriend so there’s no reason for anyone to be mad”. Eddie did something wrong and he deserves to be held accountable for it. What is the point is that it’s still something he and Chris could have worked through together. But instead this forced separation put too much space between them that they have to overcome while fixing this thing that has gone wrong between them.

unpopular opinion (maybe?) but we are not going to see eddie mentioning buck every other sentence in el paso. this is because they are different people who deal with their feelings of loss differently. and also because buck's biggest problem at the moment is quite literally that eddie is in texas. while eddie's biggest problem at the moment is that he had to leave his entire life behind to go grovel at the feet of his parents who took his own son away from him just so he can see his son again. thanks for your time

THE FINAL CHAPTER IS NOW HERE!

Summary:

Maisy continues to fade.

Snippet:

“How are you feeling?” He asks adult Maisy after Eddie and Chris leave.

She shrugs. “Worse today.”

She looks worse, too. Thinner. Paler. He hates it. It makes him want to squirm, seeing her suffer and knowing there’s nothing he can do for her.

“Are you up to going out for a hot beverage?” Buck asks. “There’s a cafe down the street with a little play place for-”

“I know the one,” she nods.

Right. Of course she knows it.

“Coffee?” He asks. “Tea? Whatever you like? We can just sit there while she creates chaos.”

HE IS IN CRISIS OKAY?

27 for 🤏:

---

he same way Eddie had, at that age, when he’d get in trouble. Which was often, come to think of it.

“You’re mean now,” it accuses.

“Uh huh,” Eddie replies, then walks down the hall towards his bedroom. He shuts the door somewhat loudly, and locks it. He hadn’t loved the bedroom locks that came with the house, but now he’s seeing the advantage.

“What am I supposed to do?” The demon asks, voice whiny.

“Not my problem!” Eddie calls back to it.

He’s slipping up on the ignoring front.

Eddie crawls into bed, pretends he can’t hear the sounds of the demon moving around his house, and checks his phone one last time before he goes to sleep. He has text from Buck waiting for him from a few minutes ago.

Feeling any better?

It’s sweet of him to ask, but no. Not even slightly. If anything, he’s far worse off than he was before.

Nope. I feel like I’m losing my mind, is Eddie’s reply.

He turns his phone onto sleep mode without waiting for a reply.

ii.

In the morning, Eddie operates under the assumption that the demon child was a hallucination. Really, it has to have been. He was upset. He was exhausted.
