Where The Falling Ape Meets The Rising Ground

@arsnof

I hope the "What if Disco Elysium was about a witch finding her cat in the mountains" post never leaves the gaming discourse vernacular. It will never not be funny to me bc it's got all the Gamer Entitlementโ„ข levels of CoD bros throwing hissy fits about "woke" shit but instead of being couched in far right reactionism it's the exact kind of "Kingdom of Conscience" style liberal outrage at anything with conviction and beliefs that DE waxed on about. Like even chuds who get mad that the game calls you out for being racist interact with the themes of DE better and understand them more than Cat Lady did.

Trying to comprehend this post shuts down my frontal lobe.

You need the context of these two tweets

the "urg not another generic white man" comment immediately followed my an image of a generic white woman will never not be funny

Looking back on this, I think I get it. I might be wrong and there could be outside evidence of which I am not aware that paints a different picture.

But.

"I like the engine and playstyle of DE, but I'm not a fan of the content. (I don't understand the political content) I like this different genre of media and think one could be applied to the other. Also I'm not thinking about the deeper meaning of my words because this is just another tweet to me"

I could be entirely wrong. Just saying it's possible

It is not enough to get into a comfy sleeping position- one must go through several and spin like a rotisserie chicken to arrive at the position you started with.

It's the superposition theory from plugging cables in

Ancient instincts from way back in evolution when we had to spin cocoons to stay warm

Goodbye, weed. I'll see you in 20

not to be a killjoy but it's still crazy to me that it's considered mean to be like "maybe you should read / play / watch the source material before creating fanworks and diving into the fandom" bc every time i see somebody going "i havent played disco elysium or know anything about it tbh but uwu here's harry and kim kissing" idk maybe you should engage with it. maybe you should play the anti-capitalist surrealist game where you investigate the murder of a mercenary who led the gang rape of a foreign girl and process that for a bit? and then you can do cutesy mlm or whatever idc. but like at the absolute bare minimum you should understand what the source material involves otherwise we get the phenomenon of people joining a dragon age server and wanting content warnings for like, mage racism. like it's fine to ship and transform the genre into whatever but if you arent comfortable with discussions of the actual source content itself then maybe the fandom isnt for you and a different one is. peace and love.

actual peace and love would involve letting anyone who wants to do things do them, without judgment.

I don't think there is anything unreasonable about the idea that if someone isn't comfortable with actual discussions of the source material they should probably not insert themselves into the fandom. And I struggle to see how this has anything to do with ableism as per your tags.

Nobody is stopping you from doing what you want; these are just suggestions that might help you to fully engage with the greater fandom instead of only seeing the one corner

Calling scam victims stupid, much like cult members, serves to do nothing but make you feel superior, blame victims for the wrongs done to them, and in turn actually makes you more vulnerable to scams (and cults, and so on). "Look at these people! Morons! I could never be one of them because I am smart, unlike these people who fell for them because they are stupid. It is not about vulnerability and luck, both of which are factors that could affect me, it is all simply a matter of in-born intelligence, which is why I, a better human, don't have to worry about falling for them."

And boom, you have already let your guard down - you would never fall for a scam (or cult, etc.) so you can safely click on that link or read that pamphlet because if it was a scam you'd have identified it as such immediately, because you are smart. You don't need to stop and question. You're too smart. And, really, if they didn't want to get scammed they shouldn't have gone out dressed like that.

We're all potential victims. Every single one of us has been at one point or another been at vulnerable to a scammer, or a pickpocket, or any other number of external force trying to harm you for their own benefit. Blaming the victims feels good but it doesn't help shit in the long run.

Being Cautious makes life really hard...everybody wants me to scan a QR code for some shit or click a link or sign in using an account or put information into a google form etc etc etc just for basic stuff and being like "I don't trust it" makes you seem weird

URGENT: FUNDRAISING FOR BREAST CANCER TREATMENT

I have tried my absolute best not to seek financial help online, especially when our collective focus should be aimed towards the welfare of our Palestinians, Congolese, and Sudanese brothers and sisters. I truly have considered countless options before resorting to asking for monetary assistance but I no longer have the means to keep myself alive and my little family afloat. Following my father's death almost three years ago due to colorectal cancer, I was diagnosed late last year with Stage 2A breast cancer.
I amย genuinelyย sorry for this. If I could only ask for your permission one by one, I would, but I am afraid of the possibility that Tumblr may consider our plea as spam. I am reaching out because I am desperate.

I am an absolute dipshit and deserve any and all anger generated by my flippant response.

If you reblogged the previous version from me, please either delete it and reblog this one or you can totally call me out or whatever. I've earned it.

I can only offer hell-bent my deepest apologies and sympathy. Cancer fucking sucks. I've had my neck opened up like a car hood. Twice. It's not noticeable because of the beard, but I have a gnarly scar, no, double scar, actually - the second surgeons were able to go cut exactly along the old scar, so you can't tell (shoutout to Dr. Snyder in McAllen please don't be mad that I never paid my bill ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜‰) - that goes from my left ear to just under the edge of my jaw on the right side. If it comes back a third time, I'm going to have them install a zipper.

Whoever came up with cancer needs to burn in Hell.

Please donate and share. When I get funds, I will.

I hear there was a lady who married the Eiffel Tower and was in love with it? Itโ€™s not the โ€œbeing in love with a buildingโ€ I object toโ€ฆ itโ€™s that she had such shit taste. Basic bitch behavior. Like if you had a crush on Benedict Cumberpatch.

Google "Benedict Cumberbatch Eiffel Tower" for more information
