New headcanon unlocked; The room that the prep teams use in the remake center is reminiscent of a coroner's office or a mortuary.
I'd imagine metal tables and floors with a drain. Not necessarily for blood, but for when the tributes are washed. In the film, the tributes are lined up with curtains like one might see in photos of old, overflowed hospitals, along with being dressed in hospital gowns too, but I feel like that fits the vibe of the book less.
The symbolism here would be that even before they are buried, they are dolled up for their death and burials.

I have! My favorite is the bubble gum pink one. Plus I also headcanon that most of the products used on the tributes (of not clear) are some bright, pigmented colors.
Also fun fact about me: I almost went to college in order to take classes that would help me in the mortuary business (specifically I wanted to work in funeral homes)
