I was going to make my daily autistic fic challenge all different characters but so far it’s just been zoe and two… whoops
1 and 15 for the ask game
1. Who is your favourite Doctor?
It changes around a little, but I think five and eleven will always have a special place in my heart. my fave doctor and my first doctor
15. When you could change one thing about Doctor Who what would it be?
Better storylines for Peri !! Honestly the crap they kept putting my girl through.. also would improve her outfits and get rid of the rampant sexualisation
7 and 20 for the ask game?
7. What character would you like to see more of?
Rodan my beloved !!!!
20. Do you think the TARDIS would like you?
I hope so.. I mean, I’d hopefully make a decent companion all things considered. And I kinda like the idea that you’re never alone travelling on the TARDIS since she’s always there and can help you if needed

Doctor Who Rewatch | Attack of the Cybermen
Child!Three (As if the Brig wasn’t already his babysitter anyway)
I love Sarah Jane so much she rly just insinuated herself into his life only to become one of the closest friends hes ever had he did not invite her. she said I'm a journalist and ur a fucking alien I accept the job thank u. Let me in bitch
[ID: 1. Several stills from Doctor Who in which Sarah Jane Smith convinces Captain Yates to get her a UNIT pass by telling the Doctor she's his assistant; he, not paying attention, nods along. She grins at this. 2. Tags reading, "#she then also refused to ever be called his assistant again and took none of the responsibilities seriously #like we all know she had harry making her tea #and benton would've been on biscuit duty fully putting his gun down to run to the shops for some digestives #that woman ran unit like her own personal navy while the brig is like girl this is the actual military". /end ID]
Happy autism month to my princess 💙
reading a paper on quality of life among 45-to-70-year-olds with Down syndrome:
“Individuals expressed a desire to be allowed to go to bed when they wanted to.”
:(
Imagine.
I lived in a room and board that failed the burrito test. (”If you’re not allowed to get up in the middle of the night to microwave a burrito, you live in an institution.”) No one stopped me from going to bed, but they did tell me I had to have my lights out by 10, and that I had to be out of the house by 10 the next morning. When I complained to my outpatient program that I needed more help than I was getting, they threatened me with board and care, where my cell phone would be taken away and I would lose contact with the outside world. My case manager sounded so damn smug, like he had caught me out, when he said, “if you’re really as helpless as you say, then you need to be in a board and care.” Like my only options were struggling to do things I couldn’t do, or surrendering my life to an institution.
When I tried to talk about these things with other people, they always rationalized it away. (I told my dad once that my caseworker was reading my e-mails as I wrote them, demonstrating extreme disrespect for my privacy, and he said, “Well, she’s probably making sure you don’t use the internet to goof off.” I was 22 years old.)
People tend to mock the idea that telling an adult when to go to bed, when to eat, etc., is a human rights violation, even though they would find it outrageous and absurd if anyone came into their lives to do the same thing to them.
And this is what people seem to think when they tell disabled activists we’re just not disabled enough to understand that some people really do need to be locked up and deprived of all autonomy.
They don’t want *any* activists for mentally/developmentally disabled people. If you’re able to advocate for your rights, you’re not “disabled enough” - and if you were disabled enough you wouldn’t be able to advocate for your rights.
loud tv disturbing the other residents? sure ask him to turn it off that’s reasonable
makes him cranky the next day? who the fuck are you to police his emotions? you are parenting a grown ass adult’s bedtime as if he’s a three year old who will have a meltdown without nap time and it’s weird. can you imagine if a neurotypical adult was 5 min late to work and their boss went “no birthday cake for you, treats are only for good boys who set responsible bedtimes”
The burrito test is a shorthand for “is the reason i cannot do what i want in the place where i live because [safety or interpersonal concern] or because it’s not what someone else thinks i should do”. Yes of course there are situations where it’s reasonable to restrict someone from that exact scenario but if the reasoning is “but carrot sticks would be healthier” or “they should be in bed by ten” while abled people can be out and about partaking in legal recreational drugs whenever they want is bs.
especially considering this comes into play a lot in situations regarding someone fully neurotypical and just physically disabled! if your legs got damaged why the hell should you be suddenly denied autonomy over your social schedule or electronic devices or bad decisions or good decisions or bedtime.
conceptually speaking, everyone should get the maximum amount of autonomy possible for their situation
will any companion intro episode ever beat dragonfire part 1, where the companion’s introduction is her getting fed up with customer service and dumping a milkshake over a customer’s head, her backstory is that she accidentally exploded herself so hard she ended up on another planet, and the cliffhanger ending is the doctor deciding to hurl himself off a cliff for no discernible reason
Being inclusive to autistics as an autistic is recognising and accepting that we all have conflicting wants or needs.
You may hate bright lights but another autistic may love them.
You may hate being in crowds but another autistic might love that.
You may hate tags on your shirt but another autistic may actually like having tags on their shirt.
You may love bland foods but another autistic may love rich or extreme flavours.
You may love infodumping to people but it may be too overwhelming for another autistic.
A spectrum includes all ends of extremes. And all of it deserves to be accepted and accommodated for.
