UM GUYS. I JUST NOTICED A CRAZY ISSUE W THE TUMBLR UPDATE.

YOU CAN SEE THE ICONS OF ANONS SOMETIMES.

The way I was able to recognize several anons in one of my inboxes bc of this error. Oh my god. Guys. This isn’t supposed to happen.

Weighing in to say:

YES, I SEE THIS ON MOBILE. HOWEVER I DO **NOT** THINK IT'S SHOWING THE ANON'S REAL IDENTITY.

The profile pictures I see next to anon asks are profile pictures that belong to other, non-anon asks in my ask box also. Some info

I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.

Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.

And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.

But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity

So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.

CONFIRMED THE BUG IS INCORRECT ATTRIBUTION.

The pictured icon belongs to @watchingforcomets who sent me a nice ask about nail polish yesterday which I have not yet answered!

I've seen a few people lose their blogs in the last few days because of this latest fuckery, and I wanted to let everyone know you can backup your blog.

You can download a zip folder of everything except your likes here, in your blog settings.

You can also export your blog to Wordpress here, and have an online backup.

It takes a while for Tumblr to compile everything into a zip folder (it took about an hour to do mine), and it's a fairly large download (10GB for me and I've had this blog for a year or so), but it prevents you from losing everything.

I'd hate to see us lose good members of this fandom or lose fanworks that we all love, and I feel so bad for the people who spoke up for freedom of speech and the importance of dark themes in art, and have lost their blogs and works as a result of this stupid witch hunt.

Please share so everyone knows and can make backups just in case, and feel free to tag people who've had to start all over again so we can give them a follow and help build their audiences back up.

I was viscerally terrified as the end approached because you’d given us fair warning about the angst, but the way you wrote it was so beautiful and compelling that I enjoyed the whole fic from start to finish!

It checks every box: fantastic character development, worldbuilding, smut, angst, and wonderfully written.

What the actual fuck?

I usually try to stay away from these topics (and any drama or politics for that matter) for my own wellbeing because it really gets my blood pressure up, but not today.

What am I talking about you ask? This:

Just once, I would like to open this app, where I come for an escape, and not see this absolute horrendous bullshit going on. It’s not ok. You assholes that keep sending these sickening anons have some serious issues and you need to get that checked. The fact that you take pleasure in hurting others with your words in this way makes you a disgusting human and I have very real concerns for your mental health.

I have a feeling this is probably a single person or a couple of people working together to be little cunts and get off on bullying people. They aren’t getting the attention they want so they are seeking to get it in other ways. Karma is a bitch and I hope they get what they give.

We have lost so many amazing content creators over this kind of behavior, and it’s heartbreaking. I don’t even think it comes down to these anons not liking someone’s work, it’s all jealousy and attention seeking behavior based on some idea they have built up in their heads.

This behavior is not healthy anons, go touch some grass, make some friends, and learn how to be a productive and supportive member of society. You’ll get further in life if you learn how to do that. It will be more fulfilling too.

@gothcsz, @penvisions, and @joeloverture (and anyone else who might have received this bullshit) I am so sorry you received these anons. You have our support. Don’t let one little asshat troll who lives a miserable existence get you down. They are not worth a second thought. Their words are empty and hold no truth to anyone but themselves.🫂💜

When's the last time you lived?

A short little one-shot (2.6k) with sweet Marcus PIke for @pedgito @chaotic-mystery and @amanitacowboy and their Summer Loving writing challenge! Thank you for putting this all together!

I was given a quote, a location and Marcus Pike to write for, plus this lovely mood board as inspiration. No warnings needed, this is all fluff!

I smiled the biggest smile the entire time I was reading this one!! Marcus Pike being the world’s most perfect boyfriend is something I will absolutely never tire of, and this was such a sweet, warm, wonderful example of him being just that. Gosh, that guy sure knows how to make someone feel special, doesn’t he?? 🥰

First of all, the way they met was perfect. I can 110% see Marcus using his badge for romantic purposes. He’d never abuse his power to nefarious ends. But for a date? He’s flashing that badge like lighting and I love him for it. I love how much he loves love and loves being in love and loves making his person feel loved.

Which is why I loved the way he and Reader balance each other out so well, him showing her that relationships can last long term and that thinking about forever with the right person isn’t actually that scary, and her with shoeing him how to stay present and not race ahead because now is really great, too. It’s always nice to see the ways in which couples are good for each other and make each other’s lives more full, and that’s so clear with these two!!

The whole Van Gogh exhibit date was beautiful. I could see it all and feel what Reader felt looking at the wheat fields and I could feel Marcus’ enthusiasm for the subject matter and his happiness to be there with her and it truly was a perfect night for them and a perfect night to read about.

The van Gogh detail is based on my own favourite van Gogh painting that I saw "live" for the first time in Amsterdam, the whole van Gogh museum was an eye opener but that painting in particular stuck with me.
